How to stay protected from the blazing heat of sun; 7 tips

There is so much fun for kids and elders when the weather is perfect, but the burning heat of the sun and blazing fire do not allow you to step out of the house. Higher temperature exposure might induce dehydration and heatstroke.

In this article, I am sharing some tips by which you can beat the summer heat and enjoy more summer outdoor activities.

1. Dressing code in summer:

In hot summers, try to wear loose and light-colored clothes as dark colors absorb more heat from the sun.

Do not forget to wear sunglasses when you are out in the summer. It protects the cornea and retina from the damaging effects of UV rays of the sun.

Always wear a hat as it keeps your head cool and makes your personality attractive.

2. Stay hydrated:

To maintain your hydration level, eat fruits and vegetables enriched in water content like watermelon, apple, grapefruit, peach, cucumber, tomatoes, etc.

Take iced coffee or tea instead of general black tea in hot weather. Coffee can fulfill 90% of the water requirements of the body.

Try to avoid hot soups; instead, drink cold beverages like coconut water. Also, drink mango slush and lemon water which keeps you hydrated.

3. Monitor your hydration level:

The color of urine is best to monitor the self-hydration level in the body. If you are urinating after every two hours and the color varies from Yellow to transparent, it means you have a hydrated body. But you need to drink more water if your urine is darker in color.

4. Adapt a cool and dry environment for your feet:

On a blazing hot day, sweaty feet have no fun; yet flip-flops do not always suit the dress requirement. The most important thing is to keep your feet dry. Joan Oloff, podiatrist and founder of Joan Oloff shoes, believes that sweaty feet are more prone to develop athlete's foot infection, warts, and boils.

If your feet begin to sweat, replace your socks as soon as possible. If you are susceptible to sweaty feet, then you need to invest in moisture-wicking socks. Dr. Oloff advises to chose breathable leather boots and sandals instead of synthetic one in summers.

Methanol is found in peppermint and spearmint essential oils, and they have cooling effects. Make your own body spray when you are out and about. Also, add a small amount to your regular diffuser already using at home. You can also mix your favorite essential oils to prepare a particular event essential oil spray.

Have you ever frozen your pillows and bedding before going to bed?  If not, then give it a go!

Pack your pillow and bed sheet in any plastic bag and place it in the freezer for a couple of hours. Before sleep, take them out and enjoy the sleep in a cold and cozy bed. Putting or holding a cold water bottle on your bed is also another good option.

7. Use aloe vera spray:

Aloe vera has wonderful cooling properties that work against sunburn effectively and give your body an overall cooling effect. you can also make aloe vera spray to keep it in your bag while moving with just three ingredients;

Aloe vera gel:                       3 tablespoons

witch hazel:                           3 tablespoons
