How to start your own business with less money

How many people fail to become successful simply because of the misconception that they can't afford to start their own business?

An entrepreneur struggles for capital that can enable him to realize his idea successfully. For any entrepreneur, a great business is not capital intensive. Many small business ideas require very less investment. These ideas, if executed well, can ensure that the business flourishes and is profitable.

A business idea with low investment is a very desirable proposition. However, most people are not sure what those ideas would be and how they could fit into their scheme of things.

The truth of the matter is surprisingly simple: You don't need a lot of cash to start a business! For example, if you want to become a dog breeder, you do not need a lot of cash to start that business. What you need is the drive to get started, the enthusiasm to find artistic solutions to problems that will present themselves quickly, and a commitment not to let problems stop others from living your dream.

You need to know how to groom dogs. Without this skill, no amount of money will allow you to advance in the dog grooming market. In a genuine sense, you need to be a "guru"—a person to whom other people come to answer their dog grooming questions. Once you've found your niche and educated yourself -- through classes, books, the Internet, or just personal hands-on training -- it's time to figure out where to conduct your dog grooming.

Do not earn enough money to buy or lease a place of your choice. Usually, you need a lot of money to rent and equip a shop, but since commercial real estate leases are out of this world, you'll want to do without it, at least until you're comfortable. Proving that you don't need a lot of cash to start a business, consider that you can operate from your van, SUV, or the back of a customer's home.

You will own the business's equipment, but the customer will supply water, bathing facilities, electricity, and you don't even need special insurance! Now that you have the what, how, and where, advertising is the final major expense for new businesses. Fortunately, there are many cheap or free ways to get targeted advertising without dipping into your nest egg. Build good relationships with those who deal with dogs every day.

This includes veterinarians, humane societies, pet stores, and other places where dogs and dog owners will congregate. Ask them to keep well-crafted colorful brochures -- nothing you can do on your computer -- in their offices, and you'll put their names and phone numbers on your ads in return. Do a few community events for free, such as the annual Humane Society Fund Raise, where you can watch over-the-top little messy animals transforming into stylish pets someone is eager to take home.

Extrapolate easily that you don't need a lot of cash to start a business. Whether you want to be a dog groomer, typist, writer, copy service, or dry cleaner, there is a unique approach to any profession that will take you further.
