Nothing President Bush said last night (5/15/06) would have a real impact on illegal immigration. I hate to criticize the President, but that is my job vision. I have a few paying companies that cater for businesses across the country.
Immigration, both legal and illegal, is driven by the opportunities offered in this country. Those opportunities exist because “We Have the Three Rules of Wealth” as I called it when I was teaching in high school.
“The Law of the Law” You know the laws, and they do not change fundamentally, and you know the consequences of your actions if you break them.
“Private Property” You become the owner of the tools to create wealth. Intangible and intangible assets that allow you to create profits. "Rule Number One confirms this"
“Free Business” You are not limited in what you can do as long as you follow the “First Number” rule using the “Second Number Rule.”
You will not detain people unless these rules apply to them, even if they are illegal. If they do not apply, employers will steal from illegal immigrants, banks will confiscate their accounts, school districts will turn away their children, hospitals will refuse to treat them, and so on.
How, then, do you keep immigrants out of the country? Cut them off from the opportunities offered by the "Three Rules of Wealth". How do you do that?
First, you must have a complete system for identifying citizens and legal aliens. Sorry, but it does mean a national identity system. Which, by the way, solves a major ongoing crime problem of identity theft. Why not just get illegal immigrants with your ID, because you can't.
Second, he has severely punished businesses that employ illegal immigrants. It has made it a crime to hire illegally. All entrepreneurs love the hem. Some are currently earning a living by hiring cheap illegal workers and taking advantage of them. No business is harmed when the playground is rated. If middle-income wages go up, the whole company and everyone raises their prices to compensate. This will also attract law enforcement because if illegal immigrants do not get a job, many will return home.
Third is the termination of all illegal immigration benefits. There are no schools, free hospitals, food stamps, welfare, sanctuary, the government does not benefit from anything. There is no prison, either. Working hard until they pay for travel out of the country. If their country does not work hard for them until they die or die.
Fourthly, they confiscated their bank accounts, confiscated any property they owned, and confiscated their cars and houses. Remember that they are criminals when they cross the border without documents or stay overtime on their visa. Give part of it to someone who identifies you as illegal, and give half to the government.
My guess is 30 days after the program that 90% or more of all illegal immigrants will have left the country. If you take every opportunity in this country, no matter how small, in their country of origin it will seem desirable.
Immigrant children cannot be deported. That is part of the "Legal Code". If their parents have to leave they do not want to take them, then set up orphanages until they are 18 years old. Teach them, feed them, house, cloth, and take care of them. They are our people, after all.
It is this difficult, of course. Nothing else will stop people from seeking a better life. You have to make what they have when they come from look better than what is available in the United States. Nothing less will do. Otherwise, the powerful, energetic, hardworking people of the world who want a better life for themselves and their families will continue to come to hear no matter what the current penalties they know are not enforced.
Do I agree that this is what we should do? Not at all.
This is not the way to treat people. But nothing less will stop them from coming and coming and coming. Not really bad. If people come here we are looking for people who are strong, hardworking, motivated like our ancestors who moved here or who survived the hardships of slavery and lived in them. How to integrate them into the "Dream of America" conversation is completely different.
