10 Ways to Save Time at Work
Rethink your commute time
The time spent commuting can be a huge waste of time. Here are some ideas to help you rethink your commute time.
Reduce commuting time by getting closer to work
Avoid busy hours and reduce commuting time.
Use public transport to get the job done.
Do the most important thing first
Set priorities and see what your most important daily tasks are. Then work on that task before doing anything else. In this way, instead of wasting time on non-essential things, the most important things are done every day.
Try to beat the clock
We will clearly set all the deadlines required to complete and will do our best to meet those deadlines. If you leave the time spent completing a particular task open, the task will almost certainly be longer.
Set the timeout
Just as you have time to leave home to work on time in the morning, you also have to decide when to quit work and go home. Knowing that your daily working hours are limited will increase your productivity.
Work in a violent 20-minute burst
Decide what to work on, set the timer to 20 minutes, and pay full attention to the task until 20 minutes have passed. Do not do any other work for this 20 minutes. Also, do not get in the way.
Take a break
Taking a break is an unintuitive way to save time. Even if you think it's a waste of time to take a break, you can actually save time by charging the battery, reducing stress and preventing fatigue.
Focus on what you are good at
Stop trying to do everything, Instead, identify your strengths and leave the rest to others.
Start delegation and outsourcing.
Bundle the activity
You can save a lot of time by "batch processing" or arranging tasks that repeat at a specific time. For example, if you need to call someone, make them all at once instead of making them all day long.
Create an efficient system for processing email
Email can be very time-consuming and can save you a lot of time by creating a system for processing email quickly and efficiently. Here are three ideas:
Check your email twice a day.
Limit your email session to 25 minutes.
Instead of leaving emails in your inbox permanently, decide immediately what to do with each email.
Improve your typing skills. Most people spend most of their day writing reports and other documents.
Let an app do it for you
From banking to important bills and documents, mobile apps have changed the way we interact with the world around us. For example, check if your bank has a transaction tracking app and see if there is a mobile check deposit feature. Don't have time to stop by the office or photo center? Download a photo or scanner app to export important forms or order prints. By figuring out which apps work best for my lifestyle, I've been able to reduce the load on my schedule and be able to focus more on work. You can use templates for more than just project documents. Find templates for project plans, your project management software tools, reports and more: it all helps save time
