If you want to protect your fruit tree from pests during the summer, this is nearly impossible to accomplish without the use of pesticides or chemicals. This may scare some people into thinking that actual fruit will contain traces of chemicals. If you do things right, you can get rid of all the insects and not infect the actual tree. If you're going to be spraying chemicals, you'll most likely be using a handheld pump or hose-end sprayer.
If you are using a pump sprayer, you will be able to determine the mixture of chemicals more accurately. Unfortunately, you won't be able to spray it very far. Usually it does not reach the tops of the trees. This can be achieved with hoses and sprayers, but getting the right mix of chemicals is quite a challenge. It all depends on your water pressure to get the right mix of chemicals, but water pressure is not constant. One day it may be less, in which case your chemical content will be higher. When you are mixing chemicals for spraying, you must follow the directions exactly.
