Understand How the Migrator Tool Performs Its Work

  • Create a complex password ( it will act as a key) to unlock and access the files that you will transfer to the new computer. Do not forget to write it down; you will need this password only once.

  • The last three opened QuickBooks company files (supporting files as well) will be copied to a USB drive.

  • After copying the file to the USB flash drive, you can move the files with it, and the Migrator Tool will perform all the technical work.

  • The Migrator Tool downloads the correct version of QuickBooks Desktop to the new computer and sets it up.

  • There is no risk of data loss because the tool will not reformat any data.
