Understand your skin type.
It's crucial to understand your skin type before selecting an exfoliant. Remember that ageing, seasonal variations in the weather, and lifestyle choices like smoking can all affect your skin type.
There are five primary varieties of skin:
arid. This type of skin needs more moisture and is prone to dry patches. It's likely that you've noticed that cold, dry weather makes your skin even drier.
Mixture. Although it isn't excessively oily, this skin type isn't dry either. You can have dryness around your cheeks and jawline and an oily T-zone (nose, forehead, and chin). The most prevalent skin type is combination skin.
greasy. Excess sebum, or the natural oils produced by the sebaceous glands, is what defines this type of skin.

How we inspect products and brands
Recognising exfoliation
Every thirty days or so, your skin naturally goes through a cycle of turnover. This results in the epidermis, the top layer of skin, peeling off to reveal the dermis, the middle layer of skin.
