We live in a constantly evolving world of technology, where 86% of the workers are sitting at their jobs all day.
Most of us work at least eight hours a day, sitting at our desk, and we sit too much. A sedentary lifestyle can lead to lifelong back pain along with bad posture and bad habits that we accumulate.
However, read on to find out these best tips for getting rid of back pain at work!
Strength Training:
One of the biggest causes of low back pain is the permanent weakening of the central muscles due to a sedentary lifestyle or lack of physical activity.
When deciding how to get rid of back pain, consider strength training. This is a great way to strengthen your center and all other parts of your body. While this may not seem very appealing, strength training can be fun and can be done as fast as two to three times a week for up to 30 minutes. You Do Not Need to Become a Steroid-Pump Bodybuilder!
However, the benefits of strength training far outweigh the suffering of back pain in the office.
With consistent strength training, you will stay strong and healthy for a long time. Strength trainers are less likely to trust wheelchairs in old age.
In the short term, you will sleep better, improve your health and metabolism, and lose even a few pounds with the addition of muscle.
Sit with Good Posture:
While it may seem that something as simple as bending over all day can cause severe back pain, it is true.
Sitting with a bad posture puts too much pressure on certain areas of your spine. Over time, this can cause long-term damage to the discs, muscles and joints.
Adjusting your posture while sitting at your desk can be a simple solution to getting rid of back pain. It will take time and constant awareness of how you are sitting, but will lead to fantastic, painless results!
Get a Standing Desk:
Another way to slowly increase core strength and get rid of back pain is to get a desk at work.
I hope your workspace will support this healthy and healing system and provide a desk for you. At the very least, allow them to move the desk that stands in your workplace.
If you have trouble getting the administration to go, consult a doctor and ask them for a recommendation for a desk.
Get the Ergonomic Laptop Stand:
If you are working on how to deal with back pain, but your employer does not allow you to stand in the office, consider an ergonomic laptop stand.
This is a laptop desk that is much less invasive and less expensive than a traditional standing desk.
This laptop stand sits on top of a regular desk and elevates your laptop to a standing height. Due to its small size and incredibly reasonable price, not only will your employer allow it, they will pay for it!
Adjust Your Workstation:
We have now talked about standard solutions for 9 to 5 desk jobs and will discuss other workstation changes that you can make.
Let’s face it, not everyone has to stand at your desk all day. If bad knees, hips, joints or old injuries prevent you from standing at your desk, there are other ways!
For example, your computer monitor should be at an arm's length of two inches above eye level. Also, walk on the floor with your feet directly above your ankles and shoulder width apart with your knees.
Finally, make sure you are sitting in a chair with good back support, especially in the lower hip area.
Take Short Breaks:
When looking for how to get rid of low back pain, take more breaks during the day. Do not be distracted, or your employer will start questioning the integrity of your work.
However, it is perfectly reasonable to get up every 5 to 10 minutes and go to the bathroom or walk for a while.
