What is DIRBS?
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), all SIM-based devices, including cell phones, tablets and other devices must be registered, otherwise, they will be disabled.
This newly introduced authentication system is known as Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS)
You can now register yourself without access to the internet. By USSD (SMS for short) by calling * 8484 #. The process is described in detail below.

Step 1: Start dialing * 8484 #.

Step 2: Answer ‘1’ to start the registration process.

Step 3: Answer ‘1’ if you are a citizen or ‘2 ’if you are a temporary immigrant.
Step 4: Answer ‘1’ if it is your first device to be registered for free. One device per year is registered for free. But some are charged a certain registration fee.
Step 5: Enter your passport numbere to check twice before submitting any such information.

Step 6: Enter your CNIC number. Remember to double check again.

Step 7: Reply with the number of SIM spaces you have on your device. As each SIM slot holds a different IMEI number.
Step 8: Enter your original IMEI number. The IMEI number can be obtained by dialing * # 06 # on the SIM card you want.
Step 9: enter the second IMEI numbers if you have more than 1 SIM slot.
Step 10:Answer ‘1’ to complete the process or ‘0’ If you feel like you want to review your details. By answering ‘1’ your application for registration will be sent to the PTA and in case of any delay you can go to the PTA helpline 0800-55555.
Shortly thereafter, you will receive a confirmation message along with your details.

Troubleshooting Troubleshoot Failed Registration:
You need to consider the following details when you receive a failed signup message to restore a subscription request.
IMEI already exists in the system. And registration will fail.

2.If the user enters the Passport and CNIC no. or a Passport only if it is a foreigner, non-traveler or immigrant. The following message will appear and registration will fail.

3. If you enter the same IMEI number. on both SIMs and the following message will appear. Registration will fail.

4. IMEIs from different devices than 1 or more of the same device are included. Registration will fail.

5. If the first 8 digit (TAC) IMEI inserted does not apply to the GSMA, this message will be displayed and Registration will fail.

6. If the user's cell phone has two, three or four SIM cards and you enter only one IMEI, the following message will appear and registration failed.

7. Maximum limit of 5 devices per year. If that limit exceeds device 6 it could not be registered. The following message will appear and registration will fail.

8. If the IMEI number. is more than or less than 14 digits and more than 16 digits or contains special characters and characters. The following message will appear and registration will fail.
