How to reduce eye pain

Sometimes, eyestrain happens when you focus on one task for an extended length of time without taking a break. Every twenty minutes, you should turn your attention from the task to something else. You should aim to focus on anything that is 20 feet away and give it your full attention for at least 20 seconds. We call this the 20-20-20 rule.

Not only should you turn away from a strenuous activity every twenty minutes, but you should also be sure to do so for numerous hours over the day. If you must spend several hours driving a long distance or working at a screen, be sure to balance those activities with others that require your eyes to be used in different ways.

Eye strain can be caused by lighting. Depending on the activity, it can be either too darkness or too bright. If you're concentrating hard on something, such as reading, light should emanate from behind you. Dimming the lights while watching TV may help lessen eye strain.

Make sure the screens you're looking at are well-lit as well. As needed, adjust the screen brightness. Glare can cause eyestrain, so try darkening windows or utilising glare reduction filters on your digital device.

Verify that you are gazing at your digital device in the right position and at the right distance. The distance between the screen and your eyes should be a few feet, or around arm's length. The screen should be viewed at eye level or just slightly below eye level. Digital gadgets that are carried about should also be read at a height lower than eye level.

Enlarging the text on the screen of digital devices to your preferred viewing size is another helpful suggestion. It is possible to modify the text size using your device's settings.
