How to reduce belly fat and lose weight in 4 easy steps.

Embarrassment really isn't the worst thing about having a saggy midriff. That spare tire around your tummy will increase your risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes (yikes!). Fortunately, you don't need a complicated weight loss plan to burn belly fat and finally shed those extra pounds. You need a plan to commit to, so you can learn the right way to lose belly fat. Belly fat can be stubborn, but it's no match for proper nutrition, hydration, exercise and dexterity.

Believe in yourself.

The way you see and feel about yourself definitely affects your ability to lose weight and can play a major role in your success. If you're filled with self-doubt and negativity, you won't see the point in sticking it out when the going gets tough. In order to achieve your weight loss goal, you really have to believe deep down that you can do it.

Losing weight isn't just about vanity; it's about living healthy together and feeling your best every day. One factor that can help you stay focused on your goals is to consider your fat burning journey more of a lifestyle change than a diet. If you focus on living a healthier life rather than dieting, you'll keep your pace and find it easier to shut down those negative feelings.

Eat the right combination of foods to burn belly fat.

With a healthy diet, your metabolism will work properly, so you will burn belly fat much more efficiently. If your meal plan lacks essential carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals, it won't be nutritious. To make sure you're getting enough of all these nutrients, include a wide variety of healthy whole foods in your diet, such as vegetables, fruits, poultry, lean meats, raw nuts, legumes, beans, seeds, and whole eggs.

As for counting calories to lose weight, don't. Don't get me wrong, I am very conscious of what I put in my body. However, I refuse to spend my life watching every crumb I swallow. As soon as I get hungry, I NEED to eat - and trust me, I won't be thinking about calories.

I am living proof that if you eat the right foods and stick to reasonable portion sizes, you will lose belly fat without counting a single calorie ever.

Water... Drink lots of it.

Water is commonly overlooked in weight loss nutritional plans. However, this part is crucial for burning fat and maintaining the desired weight and health level. Water helps metabolize stored fat and rid the body of excess fat and toxins. Water also stops bloating and constipation and will help reduce your appetite.

Most people underestimate how much water they need and thus do not stay properly hydrated. For optimal health, drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink at least 100 ounces of water a day.

Get up, get out and exercise.

Once you start your healthy eating plan, you will automatically reduce your caloric intake and start to lose some weight. However, if you don't add exercise to the mix, your metabolism can eventually slow down and ultimately reduce your ability to burn body fat.

Sorry, but there is no way to target specific areas for fat loss. Push-ups, sit-ups, and other various abdominal exercises only work to strengthen the muscles. Here it is: the only way to get the slim tummy of your dreams is to burn fat. If you don't do this, the muscle tone you get with abdominal exercises will be buried under the paw.

If you find thirty to sixty minutes of moderate to vigorous cardiovascular activity throughout the day, combined with proper nutrition, belly fat will melt away like a hot knife through butter. If you're not in your best shape (yet) and working out for 30 to 60 minutes is too much at first, it's okay to start working out for as little as five or even ten minutes. Simply increase the length of your workout as your fitness improves.

Please remember: you cannot change your lifestyle overnight; start making small adjustments. In the beginning, you can try drinking a lot of water, increase your intake of fresh vegetables and exercise 2-3 days a week. Once you get used to the small changes, gradually build on them. Remember that small steps will lead to huge results.
