HOW TO PROVIDE FREE MEDICAL OXYGEN FOR THE ENTIRE NATION?
The entire world is now facing emergencies due to COVID 19 virus infection. When the second wave was in peak in India, the whole nation struggled for many necessary things to save thousands of lives every day. One among those essential things is the Medical Oxygen for corona virus-infected patients.

Without the availability of medical oxygen, several people were dead. In many hospitals, the oxygen cylinder scarcity was there. Many good-hearted people sell their expensive cars and properties, and they buy oxygen cylinders to provide them for free of cost to the patients in need of the oxygen. The entire country was in the dark, and it lost many of its citizens.
Whenever the emergency demand rises for a product the black market mafia also rises to make money from the people pain. The medical mafia rose to the situation and increased the price of oxygen cylinders, approximately five to ten times its usual price. The corona-infected people who were not able to buy oxygen cylinders had no option other than death.
Medical oxygen is always in need to save lives. Its demand was at peak during COVID 19 second wave. Till now, COVID does not come to an end. A similar situation may happen at any time as a third wave.
Is it possible to provide the medical oxygen for free of cost at all the time? To know the possibility of the above statement we need to know about the manufacturing process of the medical oxygen.
How is Medical Oxygen manufactured?
Air is a gas. It is a mixture of different gases. Our Earth’s atmosphere comprises approximately 78 percent of Nitrogen, 21 percent Oxygen, and a small number of other gases, such as carbon dioxide, argon, neon, helium, hydrogen, etc.

Here the exact process is medical oxygen is not manufactured. It is separated from the air. The technical procedure to manufacture medical oxygen is the Fractional Distillation of air by Cryogenic air separation.

In this process, the air is separated first and filtered for dust and water vapor. Then the air is compressed to high pressure and also cooled to approximately -185 degrees Celsius simultaneously. The process continued with further cooling. Oxygen liquefies and separates first, then Argon melts next, and finally, the Nitrogen liquefies.
All the gases are separated into liquid stages, and their concentration is refined with different processes. Finally, we will get four commercially valuable products in a liquid state from these three liquid gases. They are
- Medical Oxygen 2. Industrial Oxygen 3. Liquid Argon 4. Liquid Nitrogen.
Medical Oxygen
Medical oxygen has an oxygen purity of 93% to 95%. It is used to treat patients. It is used as a first aid in emergencies, during anesthesia, life support for patients, oxygen therapy, and shortness of breath.
Breathing pure Oxygen is quite dangerous. If we breathe, the oxygen radicals damage the protein, fats, and DNA in our bodies. This will damage our eyes and lungs. So we cannot see and breathe normally. Pure oxygen is used in deep-sea diving and submarines with proper safety measures.

Industrial Oxygen
Industrial Oxygen has an oxygen purity of 99.5%. It is used in aerospace industries, submarines, and gas industries. It is used as an oxidizer in liquid-fueled rockets. Some common uses are welding, cutting, flame cleaning, metal manufacturing, in creation of certain fuels and as a bleaching agent in paper manufacturing.
Liquid Argon
Argon is used in the welding industry as a shielding gas in TIG, MIG welding processes. It is also widely used in the lighting industry for filling in bulbs.

Liquid Nitrogen
Liquid nitrogen is used as a coolant in manufacturing industries and removes unwanted skin in medical treatments. The chemical industry uses nitrogen gas to produce fertilizers, nylon, nitric acid, dyes, and explosives. It is also used in food preservation industries.

Is it possible to provide Medical Oxygen-free of cost?
When an industry commercially manufactures medical oxygen they will also manufacture industrial oxygen, argon and nitrogen. All four products have significant commercial value with consistent demand.
So we can conclude, Yes, it is possible to provide free medical oxygen to all over the country since the manufacturer can get significant revenue from selling Industrial oxygen, Argon, and Nitrogen. So their business is definitely in profit. If the manufacturers are ready to give up the payment of medical oxygen alone then definitely medical oxygen can be supplied for zero cost.
Lives are more precious than money. When medical Oxygen is free of cost and consistently available, then we can save many lives.
