How to Produce Perfume From Home

Finding the right perfume is difficult for some. It can smell when it is sprayed into the air, but this changes when it reacts with the skin. Those tired of this problem can stop looking and create one instead. The first step is to get all the materials together. Many people focus on oils and other liquids and forget the basics like test tubes, glass beakers and measuring cups. People should avoid using materials made of metal or plastic because they can alter the scent. Glass stirring rods should also be used as this will allow the oils to mix better instead of just shaking them. Since the mixture must be stored for two days before being transferred to the bottle, the caps should be tight to prevent evaporation of liquids into the air. When everything is ready, it's time to mix the oils together. Many are extracted from plants and some last longer than others, creating base, mid and top notes. Examples of base notes are cinnamon, fern, moss and sandalwood. Ylang-ylang, lemongrass, and neroli are middle notes, while bergamot, lemon, orange, and orchid are examples of top notes. There are also animal oil extracts, but those who hate it can rely on synthetic oils instead. Since some essential oils don't mix well with others, a bridge is needed to mix them. The last thing to add before storing for a few days is some ethyl alcohol. This may not always be available, so many recommend using vodka instead. After two days of storage, the last thing you need to do is mix it with distilled water. This should be filtered to remove all solids and the liquid can be transferred to a plastic bottle. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to come up with a scent. This takes practice, which is like excelling at a sport. The only reason some companies make it so complicated is because others mix different notes together to achieve the desired result. Those who do it just for fun can make homemade perfume using rose petals. But those who plan to turn it into a business should be prepared to turn a kitchen or an empty room in the house into a mini laboratory. A person does not have to do everything by trial and error because there are books and other sources to get this information. Some even mention a recipe for a certain mixture to serve as a guide for anyone who wants to get started. Some mixes produced will not perform as well as expected. Instead of throwing it away, there are other things an entrepreneur can do with it. The mixture can be used as an air freshener, for aromatherapy, making scented paper and more. After all, the ingredients used to make these other products are the same as perfumes, and it can still be put to good use. Perfume production is individual. So one has to find out what scents work for the individual and others out there so there is a direction to make these blends.
