How to prevent hair loss in men?

Afraid of a receding hairline and bald head? Fortunately, hair loss in men is one of the problems that can be solved.
As long as they still have the hair, they will never admit it. But the men are just as proud of their hair as the women. Due to genetic predisposition, but also hormonally or due to lifestyle, they unfortunately have to struggle with hair loss much more frequently. But how can you delay the development of the dreaded receding hairline or even a bald head?

Natural hair loss is normal

We all, women and men, lose dozens of hairs every day. Maybe even hundreds of them. This is hair whose growth period has ended. They are now in the so-called telogen or resting phase and fall out of the hair follicles after the growth stage. That's why you can rest easy if you discover some hairs in the comb or in the shower drain after washing.

However, caution is required in the event of excessive hair loss!

What helps if too much hair is already falling out? If the hair loss has been going on for a long time and the man can't shake the impression that this type of hair loss is really not okay anymore? In this case, you have to look for the cause. It is advisable to consult a dermatologist or, even better, a trichologist – i.e. a specialist in hair and scalp health.

Do not exaggerate...

Because too much care can also result in increased hair loss. Constant styling. Inappropriate heat applications. Wearing a hat or helmet regularly. Often the reasons for hair loss are quite banal. Our hair doesn't tolerate everything well.

Is it the genes? Or the hormones? It is not uncommon for both to be to blame!

The vast majority of men usually go bald as a result of their advanced age (as we age, our hair becomes weaker and weaker and falls out more often) and genetic predisposition. Of course, there are other causes of hair loss in menHormones also play an important role.

In men, this hair loss is called androgenic alopecia. It often sets in after the age of 30 – and occasionally before the age of 20. The hormone testosterone is converted into dihydrotestosterone. It strains the hair follicles, from which the hair falls out more easily.

But there are other types of alopecia.

The disease has several variants. And the causes are accordingly quite diverse and are often related to autoimmune problems. The hair loss process is different. With androgenic alopecia, the so-called receding hairline develops at the beginning and the hair falls out towards the crown of the head. With other types of alopecia, focal hair loss occurs when larger areas on the head or elsewhere on the body are affected.

Preventive measures for hair health.

  1. Avoid stress as much as possible. Rest, sleep a lot, and be well. If you are stressed at work, you can work with a coach.
  2. Make sure you eat a balanced diet. Because the hair needs magnesium, biotin (vitamin H), vitamins from the B group, zinc, copper, selenium, and silicon. So eat legumes, whole grains, omega fatty acids in nuts, seeds, and saltwater fish, but also rice, fresh fruit, and vegetables.
  3. You should also drink enough. But certainly not sweet soft drinks, but normal fresh water.

If you have problems with your hair, optimal care helps.

Nourish and wash your hair with appropriate products formulated to benefit scalp health and promote the regrowth of new, healthy hair.

In your fight against hair loss, it makes sense not only to use certain shampoos that promote hair growth (often with stimulating caffeine) but also tonics or serums that prevent hair loss. Hair treatments with long-term effects are also helpful.
