How to play cricket

 Two teams of eleven players each play cricket. One team alternates between hitting and fielding the ball to score runs, while the other team bowls and keeps the opponent from scoring. In cricket, the primary goal is to outscore your opponent by as many runs as possible. The captains of the two teams will toss a coin before to the game, and whomever wins gets to choose which team bats and fields first.

Every cricket match consists of intervals called innings; each team will often have one or two innings, and the amount of innings each team has is decided prior to the play. One team bats the ball during an inning while the other tries to field.
 Each team alternates between fielding and hitting in turns.

An oval cricket pitch with a rectangular pitch in the middle is used for the match. A border, which might be a fence, ropes, or lines, delineates the boundaries of the field. Furthermore, a wooden target known as the wicket is positioned roughly 20 metres apart on either end of the rectangular ground. Three stumps support the two bails that rest above the stumps that make up the wicket.
The pitch is also marked with lines; the bowling crease is a line that is positioned parallel to the wicket. Around 1.2 metres in front of the wicket is another line that is referred to as the popping or batting crease. The region that the batter and bowler can work in is defined by these creases.
 While the game is in progress, all 11 members of the fielding team have to be on the field, but only two members of the batting team are allowed to be on the playing ground. A player is selected from the fielding team and he is known as the bowler, while the rest of the 10 players are known as fielders. The bowler will then attempt to hit the wicket with the ball, while one of the fielders – specifically known as the wicket keeper – crouches behind the wicket to catch the ball if it misses.
The other team's batsman will try to hit the ball before it reaches the wicket. Once the hitter hits the ball, the remaining fielders must pursue it. The batsman's job is to bat the ball away in order to stop the ball from hitting the wicket. In addition, after a ball is hit, both batsmen must run as many times as they can from their respective wickets to the other in order to score a run.
