How to Plan Your Success

"Now, act on your plan"

Early in my career, I was told, "Most people have a business plan, but the problem is they don't work their plan." The same can be said about New Year's resolutions. How many promises have you made to yourself, and how many of them will you keep?

A big problem is that sometimes goals are set too high. Another issue could be that a goal is so dramatic that achieving it will take up all of your time. In fact, it can get so big, it becomes overwhelming.

At this stage, not only will you not act on the idea, but being overwhelmed will prevent you from achieving your other simpler goals.

For example, if you want to become famous across the country this year, you will need to take major public relations steps to make it happen.

This would involve speaking everywhere, showcasing your expertise, contacting as many media as possible, and continuing to be seen and heard in every way known to mankind. Make a lot of ideas in which you could be successful, not just one, and focus on one at a time.

Plus, you still have all the other avenues in your business to contend with as the CEO of your company. How do you deal with this dilemma?

In my mind, I equated a year's worth of large projects to a day's worth of vitamins. I suggest breaking down public relations strategies into achievable actions. First, outline absolutely everything you can think of that you will need to try and accomplish in order to feel 100% successful.

Then prioritize the steps in the order that will take the most time to complete. Start with the most difficult and time-consuming tasks first.

The logic here is twofold. First, you have the most excitement at the beginning of the year, as in "I'm really going to do it this time!" So now it will be easy to tackle the difficult task. Second, if you start a long project at the end of the year, you will not be able to complete it on time and will feel that you have let yourself down.

Now that you know which task to start, complete at least one step of it each day, depending on how much time you can devote to the project. That's where I compare the process to a one-day vitamin.

One day of work dedicated to your top priority will give you new energy to keep going! You'll feel the excitement coming your way and the adrenaline will be flowing.

As you complete a task, your project will become easier and more enjoyable every day. Always Think Ahead of Ourselves.

As you get used to the daily routine of working on your big project, some of the smaller tasks will become easier to handle.

Within several months, you start to feel like you're making strides in making a mark, and other areas of your business are growing as well. In fact, as all areas of your business build together, new business will come to you with very little effort.

When you act strategically, the anxiety subsides and the smile returns to your face. Also, be sure to help those who are in need of your area of expertise or who want to follow in your footsteps.

Your fresh demeanor will attract new clients because you are happy, confident, and clearly successful. You'll also generate repeat business, referrals and testimonials - all essential ingredients for success. Every few months, you will be able to see and measure your progress.

In the middle of the year, you would be feeling quite popular. By the end of the year, you will be successful and known all over the country! During the period, if you think about quitting, just remember why you started it and what motivated you.

Additional ideas for building a business:

1) -  Review each day's achievement at the end of each week.

2)-  Plan next week's daily tasks on Friday.

3)- Include simple tasks as difficult tasks are completed

4)- Increase your dose of vitamins or daily tasks as your routine becomes easier

5)- Share your good news of achievements

Commit to taking your business vitamins year after year

The end result of paying excellent attention to your plan is that it will be successful, and your profits will increase!
