There are a number of people who are trying hard to lose weight, though some will succeed and some will fail. But it's a great battle for them to keep their weight off. Although, most of them will find that they soon regain their weight within a few days (after finishing their specific food diet) or ended up gaining more weight. This will cause a lot of stress and can damage their self-confidence, as most of us associate our confidence with physical appearances. What is required is a permanent solution to their weight problems. There are other obvious steps you can take in the battle to lose weight. Most of these steps include eating less and increasing the amount of exercise we do. Actually, this is not a food issue as a whole that can be difficult to control, but it is our temptations that often overwhelm us.
In my opinion, what we need to do is make our house a place without oil and white bread. Whenever we get hungry, we start looking at cupboards and see a pack of crisps or a brownie, it becomes very difficult not to eat them. Our appetite for fast food can be overwhelming, and our inner demons try and make us believe that one packet will not hurt. If that pack of crisps was not in the cupboard, we would not be put in that tempting situation, and we would not be able to eat them.
A long story short, a few years ago, when I started to lose weight, I decided to remove all food from the cupboards so that I realized I should stop eating. I also eliminated certain beverages such as sugary beverages, which were contributing to my weight gaining problem. I dusted all the food menus I had in the bin and tried to make it as difficult as possible to eat or drink anything I shouldn't have. When I went out and probably had to be determined to save my food and not be tempted to buy any of these items in stores etc. This was not easy to do, as I am a fan of all these fatty foods. I was also following intermittent fasting for around 2 months and consumed a lot of avocados, eggs, whole-grain wheat, and fresh veggies.
During my weekly grocery shopping, I bought more fruits and vegetables. Though I was surprised that my taste buds have already changed, and I do not crave sweets anymore. After 2 to 3 months, I reached my goal of happiness. I decided to stick to the fruits, and my cupboards did not yet have the foods I like to eat but which do not match my weight.
Here, are some essential points to consider for initiating this healthy journey:
- Accept yourself (stop body-shaming yourself).
- It’s also important to maintain a healthy BMI ratio to avoid any kinds of health ailments.
- Try to follow any single type of intermittent fasting, which will eventually help you to lose and maintain your ideal weight.
- Including meat (salmon, red meat, or chicken) and fresh veggies (for non-vegetarians).
- Stop buying anything that you think might slow your weight loss journey. You need to show your mental strength when you are buying your grocery in Walmart and looking at the chocolate or soda cane section.
- Maintaining your eating style, which suits you the best and helps you maintain your weight either it is a combination of diet food and exercise (hitting the gym) or a keto diet with moderate exercise (walking, Pilates, mediation).
