It is easy to forget the power of our unconscious minds. We often do not fully understand how our actions (or not) affect our lives. We may complain that things do not always go our way, that we are unlucky, or that we do not have the means to succeed.
What we fail to realize is that we are creating our conditions by self-harm. To overcome self-injury, we must first use caution to examine our feelings and fears and understand how they affect our actions.
Once we have identified the root of the problem, we can prevent it from happening in the future. What happens when we hurt ourselves? Knowing, we can be afraid of some effect, even if we say we want to. Take, for example, weight loss. Many obese people have fought hard for years, tried to eat after meals, and still can't lose weight (or keep it away). They scold each other, push themselves more, and then try to force the weight. But what happens under the face? Do they want to lose weight too much? They may say they do, but what if their oil layers provide a sense of security and safety in an uncertain world? What if they feel the need to hide and hide? Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. They can therefore jeopardize their dietary efforts to avoid feeling extremely vulnerable and exposed. Even if they say they want to lose weight (and believe they do), they can still set themselves up for failure by stealing food, skipping exercise, and promising to try harder tomorrow. Some may be intimidated by something as simple as starting a new job.
Did you know that an astonishing number of people do not appear in job interviews, even in the most desirable positions? Let's look at another example: Perhaps a stay-at-home mom decides that she will return to work to earn a living for her family. She wants to stay home with her children, but she feels compelled to get a job outside the home. So instead of applying for a position, he is applying for jobs that he knows he is not qualified for or jobs that require hours that do not comply with his family's schedule and that he should refuse the job if offered.
As far as he knows, that's his way of making sure he doesn't have to leave home, and at least he can say he "tried" to get a job. Those who self-injure can also be afraid of what others will think of them if they achieve their goals. They may not believe that they deserve the result, so they do things to ensure their failure. These destructive attempts were made in ignorance, so even the propagandists have deceived themselves into thinking they know what they want. If there is any uncertainty in their minds, doubts, or fears, they will find a way to make sure it does not happen. Maybe this explains you? Have you ever hurt yourself in the past? Are you still doing it now? Can't you go ahead with your goals, no matter how hard you try? Luckily WE CAN OVERCOME self-harm.
The most crucial step in setting the stage for self-injury is to make it happen. We must cultivate an awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and actions. If you were fighting for a goal and things didn't seem to be working for you, look at the challenges you faced and assess the situation. Are there any obstacles that could be avoided by making wise decisions on your part? Are there too many obstacles to overcome in this one goal? If so, you may be hurting yourself. The best way to communicate with your unconscious mind is to spend time meditating silently. Ask yourself why you are afraid. What are you afraid of? What is the uncertainty? What makes you feel uncomfortable about this purpose? For what reasons can you try to control it? Using a journal to write these questions and answers can also be helpful, as writing can help you connect with your deeper part. It can take time and practice, but exploring these opportunities can go a long way in helping you get out of a self-destructive course.
When we finally understand that we are in control of our success, we will be free from all limitations! By developing clarity and understanding of the outcomes we want to create an awareness of potential disruptions, we can stop self-harm and focus our energy on working for new goals that we will fully support by all means. We will then look back one day and see that we have become our prominent supporters instead of our worst attacker.
