Every person looks for some form of employment to meet the needs of himself and his family. The work done to earn livelihood is called profession. A person who works diligently and honestly in his profession. He gets promotion and respect. Like other countries of the world, people in our country also have different professions. Here, along with men, women also work in different fields. About seventy (70) percent of the population of our country lives in villages. Majority of the rural people are engaged in agriculture. Some people cultivate their own lands and some earn their livelihood by working on other people's lands.
Our farmers are hardworking and hardworking. They plow the fields, plant seeds, give water and take care of the crops. Our farmers not only fulfill their needs from these crops but also earn their income from them. Wheat, cooked rice and cotton are among the commodities of our country which are sold in markets while sugarcane is sold to sugar mills. There are also fruit and flower gardens in the villages. These fruits and flowers are also sold. People living in the villages also raise cattle. These animals include bulls, cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep
Chickens etc. are included which fulfill their household needs as well as their source of income. From harvesting crops to making fodder for cattle, rural women do many tasks with their hands. Some people living in the villages also do the work of shepherding the flocks, they are called shepherds. Gowales buy milk from villages and deliver it to cities. A barber cuts people's hair, a tailor sews clothes, a carpenter makes furniture from wood, mops make and repairs shoes. An architect builds houses and whatnot. Villages also have schools, where teachers teach boys and girls. Health centers are also established in some villages, where doctors and dispensers etc. work. Some literate and illiterate people living in the villages also go to the cities for employment. In the cities, there are tailors, tajams, cobblers, potters, tarkhans and gawales etc.
There are other skilled workers in the cities, they include goldsmiths, glassmakers, plumbers, watchmakers, confectioners and dyers, etc., as well as artisans of computers, motor vehicles, and electrical or gas powered items. Drivers and conductors work in buses and wagons. Unskilled people work in factories and shops to carry goods and loads, which are called laborers. Urban educated people (male and female) usually work in government and non-government offices or institutions and receive salary for their services. They include administrative officers, engineers, doctors, teachers, check employees, lawyers, nurses and clerks etc.
Our young men also take up jobs in the police and army. Trade profession is also popular in our country. Small shops are also in villages, but in cities there are big markets and bazaars. Every profession is important in its own place. The fact is that those who take up different professions lead to fulfilling each other's needs. It is a holy saying of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that Allah loves those who work hard. A person who makes hard work his motto and earns his livelihood through legitimate means is a leader in both this world and the hereafter.
