Meghan Markle’s Comments on Royal Tights Protocol
Meghan Markle recently shared her thoughts on a royal dress code protocol that she found uncomfortable during her time as a working member of the Royal Family. In an interview on The Circuit podcast, the Duchess explained that she was required to wear nude tights while attending public royal engagements, something she felt was restrictive.
The Issue: Nude Tights Protocol
According to Meghan, this dress rule was something she was "forced" to follow, and it didn’t sit well with her. It seems that for Meghan, being expected to wear nude tights as part of her royal wardrobe felt like an unnecessary constraint, particularly in warmer weather.
The Royal Expert's Response
However, royal expert Jennie Bond disagrees with Meghan’s view. Bond, who is a former BBC royal commentator, responded to the Duchess’ claims by saying that the royal dress code is actually much more relaxed than Meghan portrayed. In fact, Bond pointed out that she personally attended a royal event at Buckingham Palace without wearing tights and didn’t face any issues. She even questioned whether Meghan would have been "in trouble" for skipping tights or wearing a different color, suggesting that it wasn’t a major rule. SOURCE
