How to make yourself happy

1 Live the life you desire.

Being who you were meant to be is the best thing you can do if you truly want to make yourself happy. This entails being the person who most closely resembles you rather than the person you believe your parents, friends, co workers, or lover want you to be you will never be able to fully appreciate life or be happy if you constantly feel as though you are pretending to be happy .

Until you take a moment to check in with yourself, you might not even be aware that you're not being true to who you are. When you go out into the world the next time, consider whether you're truly being.

Step 2: Adopt a positive outlook.

Even though you might occasionally believe that it's impossible to think positively, you can actively work to be positive no matter what your circumstances may be. To cultivate positive thinking, simply concentrate on the things that bring you joy and gratitude and learn to let go of the unfavorable things. Putting your attention on discussing and reflecting on your life's positive aspects will increase your likelihood of feeling upbeat. Try to follow up a negative comment you catch yourself making with two or three positive ones.

Simply trying to grin will not only lift the spirits of others around you, but it will also make you feel better.

3. Stay in the here and now.

Turning your attention from the past and future to the world in front of you is one approach to find happiness. Even while it's not always simple to let go of the past or to stop worrying about the future, the more present focused you become, the more likely you are to find happiness for yourself. You can set aside specific times each day to worry about the future or lament the past, but if you want to enjoy your everyday interactions, you should ignore these ideas as well. Thinking about the past or the future causes one to lose sight of the present, and this is the only moment when you can truly enjoy the present.

4. Setting thankfulness as your top priority is another method to find happiness. Take a seat, get a piece of paper, and list everything for which you are thankful. Promise yourself that you won't stop writing until the page is full. Spend some time reading these things out loud and expressing your sincere gratitude for everything that brings you joy and happiness. You can express your gratitude for something as basic as the great coffee at your favorite local cafÈ or for something more significant like your health.

Develop the habit of being grateful. If positive things happen to you, write down your gratitude; if not, keep an eye out for things for which you should be thankful.

5. Getting some perspective is another method to find happiness for yourself. Examine your circumstances objectively. While there might be some issues in your relationship or that you've been working too much lately, overall, you have a roof over your head, love and joy in your life, and a host of other things for which you are thankful. It's simple to become depressed when one or two things in your life aren't going well, but you need to practice seeing the big picture if you want to develop a happy habit.
