How To Make The Switch To Working Online

My last post was about leaving the normal work I did for you online. I have touched on some basics needed to accomplish this task. For me, it all started when I quit my day job and started working online, it inspired me to write the Top 10 Reasons to Quit Your Work. There are many reasons to quit your job and start having fun, but how does one make that jump in the rat race to live the dreams?

November 2006 is where my dream started. I was driving a local farmer a beetroot truck during the harvest, looking for jobs to apply for and setting up interviews. I listened to the radio a lot while driving and picked up a program by Dave Ramsey, a debt counselor. He encouraged me to make changes in my life so that I could get out of debt and live a satisfying life. After reading some of her favorite books, including hers, I received the book 48 Days to the Work You Love. I mentioned this book a few times because I would buy it for anyone graduating from high school or college. The book does not give you answers on what tasks you should perform, but asks the right questions. Over the next year and a half, I worked hard to reach my goal and to pursue a career that I had chosen.

When I say I have tried all the wrong ways to make money online, I mean. I made a blog with Ad sense, tried to sell e-books, e-Bay drop-shipping (including book), and many more. I thought that because others were successful in doing  I would be able to duplicate their work. I was somewhat able to do what they did but in the end it cost me more time and effort than anything I had ever come up with in those ideas. I always knew I wanted the flexibility and lifestyle that an online business can offer, but I was doing business for others and not myself. It wasn't until I discovered that doing what you really love is the key to success both online and offline in business. You have to really love what you do and be willing to do it even for free. If you can really get up in the morning and want nothing more than to go to work and get what you want. I can't even sleep because I will just go to sleep thinking about the things I will do in a day.

Personally, I found that I like to solve problems. I have known this for a long time, but I have never used that ability to help negotiate and get through this situation until your decision is final. I also knew that I loved working with people and helping to meet their needs (going to someone). What I have done is to combine offline business with online business. I was helping local groups and businesses get online. Many have a website, but that site is not readily available in local markets. I help explain people’s intentions and the purpose of their online business. In our local market, this is a niche that is not fully utilized. I will not say anyone in the city who really has the experience to carry out these business activities (some want it but do not bring it). The past two months have brought me great business and I find that every day I love what I do more and more. I think it is a lot of fun to help people like these and in an unused market there is a lot of potential for growth.

The big part you have to remember with all the digestive information when you start your desire to work online is to achieve your dreams, not someone else’s success. Unless you can separate your pursuit of money without a successful career, there will be a short life. Ask yourself the appropriate questions:

* What are my hobbies? (Lust)

* What do I know most or want to know more about (investing, housing, SEO, puppies)? (Call / Motivation)

* What are my skills (speaking, writing, production, media, technology)? (Leverages)

* What do I get from fulfillment (helping others, adding value, sharing, teaching)? (Purpose)

* Who do I most want to work with (children, businesses, charities, sports, car enthusiasts)? (Market)

Find your target market and build its product. Have a plan and a goal before you start something online. My goal for this blog was to reach out to others and build a network. Don't build a blog and try 10 different ways to make money on it, you will waste your time. Build a product or market for your market, not a market for your product or service.
