How to Make Money by Writing Articles ?
A lot of people are looking for ways to make money, and one of the best ways to do that is by writing articles online. You can write about virtually any topic you can think of, and your work will be seen all over the world!
Choose your topic
If you want to start a freelance writing business, there are a few steps you’ll need to take. First, consider what kind of articles you want to write and who your audience will be. You should do plenty of research on your target audience so that you can create articles that meet their needs and interests. For example, if you’re writing for lawyers, look into all of their specialties and niches; those who work in divorce law might be interested in articles about child custody cases while those who work in estate planning may be more interested in working with someone who specializes in probate. Once you’ve figured out what people care about (and even better—who they are), finding potential clients is easy! Just make sure you have an email list or other way to contact them so that you can let them know when new content goes live.
Step 1 - Brainstorm on your Topic
Before you get started writing, it’s a good idea to spend some time thinking about topics you could write about. Write down as many ideas as you can think of, and make sure each topic is something that interests you. The more interested in your topic, the easier it will be for you to find new things to write about over time. When possible, try and create an idea with broad appeal - a strategy that is far more likely to generate high traffic. Step 2 - Research Your Topic: Once you have chosen a topic, take some time to research it. Find out what others are saying about your topic and how they are saying it. Look at their websites, social media accounts and other platforms where they share information related to your niche. If you don't know where to start, use Google or search on Twitter or Facebook using relevant keywords. Step 3 - Write! After doing your research, sit down and start writing. Try not to worry too much about grammar or spelling mistakes; just get your thoughts onto paper (or into digital format). If you're having trouble getting started, consider asking yourself questions like: What do I want my readers to know? What problem do I want them to solve? What do I want them to feel? What action do I want them to take? Remember that these answers may change depending on who you're trying to reach and what content marketing strategies you're using.
Step 2 - Do a little research
Before you start writing, it’s a good idea to do a little research. What are people interested in reading about? Where do they hang out online? Who is writing articles that align with your topic? Answers to these questions will give you direction as you begin creating content. If you don’t know where to start, spend some time looking at popular websites or blogs within your industry. Which ones have great design and visual appeal? Start there! You can also find topics related to yours through social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You can also check out Reddit—the community-driven site has thousands of active communities around specific interests and hobbies. Once you find something interesting (or if you have an idea of your own), start brainstorming ideas for what you could write about on those sites. Then, get started on actually creating something useful for others—and hopefully make money while doing so!
Step 3 - Get Down to Work!
Before you begin, you’ll need a few things: your outline, your resources and a timer. I recommend that you set aside between 30-60 minutes for each post; however, if it will take more or less time, then just adjust accordingly. Try working on your writing when your energy is at its highest levels (for me that means first thing in the morning) so that you can get as much done as possible. Alternatively, try setting up one or two writing days during your week – say on Mondays and Fridays – and build them into your schedule. Keep in mind though that setting too many goals could actually be harmful to performance; stick with a maximum of two or three targets each day and see how much progress you make. Once you have all of these ready, turn off your phone and start writing! The best way to ensure success is to follow my 6-step process below.
Step 4 - Revise Your Work
When you finish your draft, put it away for a while before returning to edit it again. This may seem counterintuitive, but research has shown that people are far more critical of their own work than anyone else would ever be; give yourself some time away from your piece before editing so that you can approach it with fresh eyes and an open mind. In fact, after completing Step 3 above, give yourself at least 24 hours before returning to edit again; ideally 48 hours would be even better!
Promote your Article
If you publish an informational piece of content on your website, consider promoting it through social media and your newsletter. Not only does promote your articles create more exposure for your website, but it can also increase credibility in the eyes of search engines. This is because Google likes to see that others have recognized value in your work and shared it with their networks. When deciding how much time you want to spend promoting a given piece of content, keep these things in mind: It takes time and effort—but not a ton—to spread information through various channels; so if you’re producing consistently valuable articles, share them as much as possible. You want quality over quantity here; one or two well-placed social media posts should suffice instead of 20 shares across five different platforms. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for feedback from other experts in your field. The last thing you want is for people to read something you wrote and then tell you about it later. While some may feel uncomfortable asking people they know to promote their content (or anything else), I personally love doing it—especially when I get amazing results like those below! So if you do decide to reach out and ask someone who knows a lot about SEO or online marketing or whatnot, just remember that they're going to be flattered that someone wants them to share their expertise with an audience. That's why they're great at what they do! So go ahead: pick up the phone (or send an email) and ask away!
