Gel candles are a great thing to do. Not only are they beautiful, but they are very easy to light. They also light up slightly, giving your candles a longer life to appreciate. Gel candles are very easy to make and inexpensive. You can also add your favorite perfumes to them. The ingredients you need to get started include gel, zinc wigs, fragrant oils if you like, and dyes to add color. Some people like the look of a clear gel candle and prefer not to use any dye. It is important that you only use zinc wicks for gel gels because the cotton fibers absorb the gel, causing them to not shine or burn well. You can buy these resources at a craft store or online.
Gel candles can be made from a variety of holders. Using those made of glass will give you the best results. However, as long as the container does not burn you will be fine. If you are not happy with the color you can add a little more. If you plan to use embedded objects in a candle, it is recommended that you keep the color of the jelly candle very bright. Next, add the scent if you like. 1/3 teaspoon is all you need for each glass of melted gel.
For best results, heat your dish in the microwave for about one minute. This will eliminate those invisible bumps that can build up on gel candles. Immediately after removing the handle from the microwave oven, start adding your own embedding. You will want to dip them in hot gel to make them stick to the handle. You can configure embedding any way you want. For best results push them towards the edge of the holder so they can be easily fielded. You can create embedding patterns or add them freely.
It is important not to keep the gel too hot while completing the embedding process. Once you have done that, pour the gel into the holder. If you allow the gel to cool before pouring it into the container you will end up with lumps of gel throughout the candle. Make sure the cord hangs over the handle before applying the gel. Once the gel has been applied, cut it into the desired size.
