If your kids are fans of Doraemon, a popular cartoon character, they must know about Dora Cake. Doraemon loves Dora cake, and kids love it too.
If you have never heard of Dora cake, for your information, it is a diminutive of dorayaki, which is a Japanese-style sweet pancake sandwich, in which sweets such as chocolate or jam or chocolate are served with a spread. Children get a lot of pleasure, it is also easy to make and very healthy too, because many nutritious ingredients have been used in it.
There are never enough dishes, even for a kid's tiffin box, that are guaranteed to be eaten by the kids. Dora Cake is a brick that is on the success of the highest peak of the wall. Plus, it follows all the other elements of the school lunch box item, is very quick and easy to make, and is an "on-the-go" meal that doesn't require sitting or cutlery. Just keep eating wrapped in tissue paper and roaming around the premises.
Preparing in the stillness of the morning is exciting and doesn't create too much stress. I make it early in the morning while I listen to "Borai Sangeet" with a cup of coffee, and in the meantime, I have to wake up the kids to go to school.
The correct consistency of the batter is critical, as you do not want your pancakes to become dry and hard. If you are starting, I would always recommend making a small amount at first. Early on, I used to have the most trouble with batter, another hard thing to do with pressure cookers.
So, I suggest everyone start with a quantity of 2. Once you mix properly, everything will be fine. There is no need to make the pancakes too sweet, as you will also use a sweet filling. It's all about the balance. You can store the pancakes in refrigeration for up to 15 days.
INGREDIENTS:-
1 cup flour
One teaspoon honey
2-3 tbsp condensed milk
2 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup milk
INSTRUCTIONS:-
1.)Put all the dry ingredients (maida, powdered sugar, baking soda) in a bowl. mix well
2.)Now, add all the wet ingredients (milk, vanilla essence, honey, condensed milk) to the flour mixture and mix well to avoid lumps.
3.)The consistency of the batter should not be very wet. It should be a bit thin like we use for making pancakes.
4.)Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat, add few drops of oil and wipe it with a paper napkin to grease the pan.
5.)Take any standard-sized spoon or cup to pour the batter so that we can make the pancakes the same size every time we make them.
6.)I have taken 1/3 cup of batter and now pour the batter in the pan on low flame. Please do not spread the batter with a spoon; Batter will gradually spread by itself.
7.)Cook it on low flame till bubbles appear on the upper surface of the cake. It takes about 1 or 2 minutes
8.)Gently flip with a spatula and cook on the other side for a few seconds.
9.)Once cooked on both sides, keep them aside to cool completely
10.)Apply a thick layer of chocolate spread/Nutella/jam on one side of the pancake. Cover it with the other pancake.
11.)Similarly, make the rest of the Dora cakes.
12.)Homemade Dora cake or teriyaki is ready to enjoy.
NOTE:-
You can keep these in a plastic bag in the fridge for several days. If your pan is more significant in size, then you can make two pancakes at a time.
