Step 2
Steam the milk now. You can use a French press to do so or an electric whisker.
Step 3
Now gently tilt the mug with the espresso shot and slowly add milk to it in circular motions. Once done, your Flat White is ready to be served.
The history of coffee begins in legend. According to one legend, ancestors of today's Kaffa people in a region of Kaffa Ethiopia were the first to recognize the energizing effect of the coffee plant.. However, no direct evidence that has been found earlier than the 15th century, or even where coffee was first cultivated.
The story of Kaldi, the 9th-century Ethiopian goatherd who discovered the stimulating effect of coffee when he noticed how excited his goats became after eating the beans from a coffee plant, did not appear in writing until 1671 and is probably apocryphal.
There is evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree from the early 16th century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen, spreading soon to Mecca and Medina. By the 16th century, it had reached the rest of the Middle East, South India (Karnataka), Persia, Turkey, India, and northern Africa. Coffee then spread to the Balkans, Italy, and to the rest of Europe, as well as Southeast Asia.
Ancestors of today's Oromo people in a region of Oromia in Ethiopia were the first to cultivate coffee plant and recognise the energising effect of the coffee. There are several legendary accounts of the origin of the drink itself. One account involves a 9th-century Ethiopian goat-herder, Kaldi, who, noticing the energizing effects when his flock nibbled on the bright red berries of a certain bush, chewed on the fruit himself.
His exhilaration prompted him to bring the berries to a monk in a nearby monastery. But the monk disapproved of their use and threw them into the fire, from which an enticing aroma billowed, causing other monks to come and investigate. The roasted beans were quickly raked from the embers, ground up, and dissolved in hot water, yielding the world's first cup of coffee.
