How to Live to 100? Try the OK Diet

Okinawa is an island in the south of mainland Japan and is known as the site of the largest amphibious operation of the US military during  World War II. Today, it is better known as the source of the Okinawa diet-a simple but effective weight loss program. Okinawa's diet is to eat a lot of plant-based foods such as tofu and locally grown vegetables. The diet plan also requires the consumption of various types of fish, seaweed, and other organic products that are high in protein, high in calcium, and low in fat. In fact, it's not uncommon to find Okinawans over 100 years old. This island is recognized as the most populous island in the world with people over 100 years old. To date, heart disease, breast cancer, and prostate cancer are still rare on the island.

Okinawa's diet is very attractive as the problems of overweight and obesity are widespread in the United States. Many obese people have tried to take diet pills to minimize hunger while reducing food intake. Other weight loss diet pill prescriptions work by preventing the body from absorbing fat. Most of the fat comes from fatty meat.

Most Okinawans rarely eat meat, so gaining weight is rarely a problem. It is very rare to see Okinawans who are overweight or swollen. Most of them retain the small but slender look of their ancient ancestors, who were primarily relentless fishermen and peasants. The secret to the effectiveness of the Okinawa diet is the philosophy best summarized in the phrase "food as a tonic, food as a medicine". The islanders were greatly influenced by the food culture of China, South Korea and mainland Japan. All of these emphasized the efficacy and therapeutic value of a particular food group. In many homes in Okinawa, mothers and cooks use the words "please eat this" to eat. This food is suitable for curing this illness and that illness. Eating is good for you. After the meal, the person who ate said, "Kusinatan!" The word kusinatan is an Okinawan word meaning "food is delicious". My body feels good. Food is like medicine.

Besides a healthy diet, Okinawans also have a very active lifestyle. The islanders, young and old, practice martial arts, participate in folk dances and groom their gardens. These activities provide them with the opportunity to sweat and release toxins from the body. By working, you can improve your cardiovascular health. Many people over the age of 100 in Okinawa are engaged in traditional dances called karate and rosin odori because they consider them to be the source or purpose of their lives. Unlike  Western older people, Okinawan older people have maintained personal care through personal exercise while continuing to be physically active in the community.

In the United States, for example, nursing homes often lead a comfortable and sedentary lifestyle. A sluggish lifestyle and foods high in fat and carbohydrates contribute to an increase in heart disease and other diseases in many Americans. Not all Americans have the hobbies and discipline to follow an Okinawan-style diet program, but with the help of doctors and medical professionals, weight control can still be achieved.

In addition to hitting the gym, those who need to lose weight can ask their doctor about prescription weight-loss drugs that can help reduce appetite and prevent fat absorption. Many products on the market claim to be the best weight loss drugs. Weight watchers should consult with their physician or the US Food and Drug Administration to select a safe and effective weight loss product line.

Many unproven products are now sold openly, so you should only buy and use FDA-approved weight-loss drugs, but the safety of these products remains in question. Those who are serious about losing weight should look into the benefits of other diet programs as well as the benefits of the Okinawan diet. Living to 100 may be an unattainable goal for many Americans, but it's never too late to give up an unhealthy diet.

As in Okinawa, many Americans today need to return to a healthy and active life. This means eating the right amount of the right food. And a passion for art, activity or event that can give them a purpose for their own lives.
