How to Learn to Code for Beginners

Well, if you have come across this article, I believe you have some interest in coding. You may have read about coding in some articles or may have watched videos about coding, or maybe heard of becoming a hacker or designing an application, and asked yourself how these applications are built? How are websites designed? How is coding done?

So, in this article, I will try to answer all these questions based on my experience. I am going to give you some tips on how to learn to code.

What is Coding?

Other than the traditional definitions, I will define Coding as to build the best possible responsive website or to develop a fully functional Game or to build user-friendly mobile applications and to develop your projects at best. Coding is a new thrilling area of education that lets you explore many opportunities in the real world.

Key Points on How to Learn to Code

1.) Why do you want to learn to code?

Ask yourself first, are you really interested in coding and so passionate about coding? If you are interested, then a few months of dedicated work is enough to make you fluent in a coding language. If you aren't, you may get frustrated or may feel lost or demoralized, as it is not easy to learn and apply coding for a beginner.

2.) Decide with what type of skills you want to end up with?

You may already have decided that you want to learn a particular language, be it Python, CPP, etc. Or, the possibility is, you are a gamer personality and need to end up with developing online games. Or, maybe you are interested in building Websites or Mobile Apps development. Possibilities are many, and so are the languages to learn.

Type of skills

You should know which type of project you want to build after learning to code. Just writing the syntax and running the result doesn't mean that you have become a programmer. You should have a real exposure or practical experience about the project building.

There exists another category where people don't know in which language they should acquire skills or which project they want to end up with. Well, for you people, do start exploring your interests and start with some basic language like "C" and slowly start building your foundation and jump to other languages.

3.) After you choose a Language

After you have chosen a language to work with, start learning it through the scratch or from basics (like definitions, loops, statements, functions, etc.). Just practice questions after understanding concepts. Try to build small programs and run them.

4.) Start working on projects

After you are done with small programs, jump onto doing a small, simple personal project based on your surroundings. The project can be related to any small problem solving you face in your real life, like online shopping or online ticketing. Try to understand the need of your project before starting one.

5.) Start learning the advanced topics

You cannot build the bigger projects based on just your knowledge of basics; you should start parallelly with the advanced topics for that particular language.

You can take reference from different standard books or maybe some good video tutorials on the internet for understanding the concepts of the language. Explore as much as you can, to make your Technique grow strong. Try to build as many projects as you can.

6.) Join Online Communities related to programming

There are many discussion forums available online, like stack overflow, to help you if you get stuck somewhere. You can ask your question, and you'll get your answer. You have to do an extensive search to complete what you started.

7.) Keep Learning and Practicing

As I said, you need to do hard work, devote your time, keep yourself motivated, keep learning, and acquire knowledge continuously. Don't keep on using the same logic pattern and try to explore new problem-solving methods.

For more exposure, you can join Internships or start working for different freelancing websites, because this is going to be your real support in real-world problems and solving them.
