Advantages of maintaining a Meal clock for our body

Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. Scientists at Harvard Medical School say that our bodies are programmed to sense lack of food as starvation and as a result, our body can go slow on metabolism, spending less calories. When it happens very often, it makes it difficult for the body to lose weight. Skipping breakfast and other subsequent meals leads to insulin sensitivity and could increase the risk of type 2 diabetes.

KEEPS YOU ACTIVE:

Eating at the same time daily, keeps your body active during your working hours. By sticking to your time, you can keep your energy levels up and mind focused. Missing a meal can have adverse effects on the body metabolism, affect mood and daily performance

PREVENTS UNHEALTHY SNACKING:

Eating on time daily, gets your body used to a certain schedule. Regular eating habits help the body to get all necessary energy and in turn discourages lower consumption of sugar, unhealthy snacks, and fast foods. Try choosing a fruit, dry fruits or boiled vegetables as a part of midday snack to maintain certain amounts of energy

 CONSISTENT ROUTINE:

Setting a consistent routine is a good habit as it makes healthy eating a priority. This leads to a healthier lifestyle, making time for workouts, focusing on daily tasks and to have a productive day. It may be tough initially to stick to a routine but try making an effort to stick to it and it becomes easier with time.

EAT SMARTLY:

Since you have a diet routine, it doesn’t mean that you must skip lunch or dinner invitations. Plan ahead, eat fruit, boiled vegetables or nuts before dinner to feel satiated and to provide the body with necessary fuel to run its tasks.

Another important aspect of this meal clock is to time our meals right and towards this is a highly important relation of meal time and digestion. Hence it is important to wind the last meal of the day in time for the digestive system to work well and keep our body healthy and safe.

Eating an early dinner will help us with lower blood pressure, better sleep, improve digestion, better metabolism to reduce obesity and lowers the risk of chronic diseases .

Principles of Ayurveda say that the human body is very much affected by the cycles of nature and sunlight.

In Ayurveda, ‘ratri’ is a period that starts one hour after sunset.

Eating dinner in the first phase of ratricharya is recommended to keep the body’s cycle in sync with nature's cycle.

People who usually have a late dinner suffer from acidity, heartburn, bloating and other digestive problems. This happens because the time gap between dinner and bed-time reduces. When you lie down on the bed, the acid of the stomach gets refluxed to the food pipe, causing uneasiness. On the other hand, if you eat early,

the food gets processed by the digestive system well before your bedtime, reducing the chances of gastrointestinal problems.

In case one has a late day at the office or has to attend parties or functions they should make sure that the late dinner is light and less of junk. Just make sure you eat at the right time and make fitness your daily mantra!
