How to keep mental health in check

In today's world, all of us are so busy chasing our dreams and aspirations that we often forget how important it is to take a break for a while and check on our mental health. Mental health refers to an individual's emotional well-being and it is often underestimated. A person may become extremely successful in life, but without his/her gut being happy on the inside, there's no bright side of having any success in life, because what good is success if you can't enjoy it and cherish every bit of toil you put into getting it. There's no mantra or a ten-step guide to become happy. No amount of power or money in this world can buy the feeling of satisfaction or happiness. If happiness was sold, we'd all be standing in ques this moment. But alas, that's not how it works. The only guide to happiness is choosing the path of prioritizing yourself and believing in the process. For a very long time in my life, I chose everyone's happiness but mine. I relied upon others for my well-being and that brought me nothing but pain and disappointment. That's when I realised that the only way to be happy is by being who you are, being proud of how far you've become and look forward to going further without looking back. If you're dealing with a rough phase in life right now, I suggest you to stop doing whatever you're doing and have a deep conversation with yourself about what makes you happy and try doing it. Try looking in the mirror and feeling beautiful both on the inside and outside. Try being grateful for all the good parts and please try to trust the process and believe that everything will fall into place even if it seems like everything is just falling apart right now. It's often easier said than done but you have to get up despite falling a thousand times or even a million. Believe in the purpose you're here to serve, trust me I know just well how relentlessly the problems keep piling up and within an hour into reality you forget what mental health was but you need to tell yourself that anything or anyone that costs you your inner peace is definitely not worth the toil. In life it's very crucial to know when to step in and when to back off. Always keep your emotions in check and never be afraid of expressing them. Remember, there's no weakness in showing emotions, infact it's a matter of strength to stand up for who you are and how you feel. After a long span of having a miserable life, I came to realize that the biggest obstacle in my life is my mind. It plays games with me, tricks me into believing that I'm nothing if not productive for the world. But that's truly not the case. Sometimes it's okay to have a day off, to just kick back and relax. Do what your body and brain demands to become peaceful and relaxed. Put your mental well-being, before others and just see how it'll do wonders for you.
