Q: My makeup always looks good after using it but after a few hours it fades. How do you make your makeup last all day?
ANSWER: The answer may surprise you ... whether the brand says “wear it for a long time” or not, you can keep your makeup fresh from dusk to dawn using the right techniques. A good trick I learned over the years: Loose powder is a great companion for your color!
• Concealer - Conceal soft spots and blend using your finger or concealer brush. Close the lid by thoroughly sweeping the area with a powder brush smeared with clean, loose powder.
Test: Sonia Kashuk Modified Matte Powder Slowly.
• Cream Blush - I strongly believe it is very small… especially with cream products. Because of its consistency, it is natural for cream blush to go on the face. One way to prevent this from happening is to apply a powder to your cheeks after a green ointment to keep it in the right place - on your cheek.
Billions are spent each year on cosmetic products that promise to remove wrinkles, brighten up old spots, and eliminate bites, blinks, or redness. But the easiest and cheapest way to keep your skin healthy and looking younger is to avoid exposure to the sun.
5 Ways to Reduce the Aging process:
1. Wear protective clothing. A wide-brimmed hat covers your neck, ears, eyes and head. Look at the labeled mirrors that block 99 to 100 percent of the sun's rays. Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and long pants or skirts in the sun.
2. Examine your skin regularly. Look for changes in the size, shape, color, or feel of birthmarks, moles, and spots. If you experience any changes in your concerns, see your doctor. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that older, fair-skinned adults be tested each year as part of their regular physical examination.
3. Avoid artificial sweeteners. Do not use sunlight and blankets, as well as shower pills and sunscreen. Diet pills have an additive that turns your skin orange after taking them. The FDA has approved this supplement that enhances color with food but not skin tanning. A large amount of color supplementation on diabetes pills can be dangerous. Cosmetic paint products are not suntan lotions and will not protect your skin from the sun.
4. Use sunscreen. Sunscreen is rated according to the sun protection factor (SPF), ranging from 2 to 30 or more. Higher number means longer security. Buy products with an SPF number of 15 or higher. Also look for products with a label: wide spectrum (meaning it protects against both types of harmful radiation (UVA and UVB) and is water resistant (meaning it stays on your skin for a long time, even if you get wet or sweaty).
5. Do not forget the sun. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is where UV radiation is most powerful. Do not be deceived by the overcast sky. Dangerous rays pass through clouds. UV rays can also pass through water, so do not assume that you are safe when you are in the water and feel cool.
