How to Introduce Baby Food to Your Child
Now that your baby is five or six months old, it is time to start thinking about adding solid foods to his diet. Before that, mother's milk is the baby's best food. Breast milk is easy to digest and provides a rich source of vitamins and antibodies to a baby. It also fosters a close bond between the child and his mother.
Although most mothers have enough milk to satisfy their baby's hunger, the decision to breastfeed is a personal one. Breastfeeding may not be popular with all women. For mothers who cannot breastfeed or decide not to do so, formula is a healthy alternative.
Babies should be fed only semi-solids after the feeling of rooting or sucking has left them. This happens in the fifth or sixth month. At first breastfeeding will be awkward, and perhaps frustrating, as your baby becomes accustomed to the unusual taste and texture of the baby's food. Some children will cry because they do not get food fast, while others will spit out junk food. It takes a lot of patience until your child develops a taste and a craving for new foods that you add to his or her diet.
It is a good idea to keep the use of canned or canned foods limited. Many of them contain ingredients, extra starch and high levels of sugar. If you decide to make your own food, hygiene should be the first thing you care about, followed by nutrition.
- Wash everything used in hot water.
- Boil utensils such as spoons, knives and keys.
- Do not store cooked food in the refrigerator for too long.
- Dispose of any remaining baby food, as germs build up quickly in unfinished foods.
- Make sure you introduce new things slowly and in small quantities.
- Start with baby cereal; then introduce vegetables and fruits; then start introducing the meat.
If you start to introduce unhealthy foods to your baby, they should be fairly hungry at meal time, but not overly hungry. The first solid food all my children started with was aron-fortified rice cereal mixed with breast milk or formula. After that I started introducing vegetables; then the fruit; then the flesh.
Initially, children should have refined food, as they grow slowly and have both upper and lower chewing teeth, providing very little food. As your child grows older, introduce a variety of foods. If he refuses to do something, replace it with something else. You can present a rejected item after a few weeks or a month.
Although home-cooked meals are excellent, not all parents have the time to make their own homemade food. There are good trading options on the market today. Baby food producers understand that parents want healthy baby food from their parents. There are a few natural and organic baby food options now available to parents - alternatively safe and healthy alternatives.
And make sure that your baby have proper routine of eating ,sleeping and playing so it gets easier for you.. start with thrice a day with small portions and make sure to hydrate your baby so the baby have healthy digestion also
