The consequences of low hemoglobin in the blood can be chronic fatigue, frequent colds, and general weakness. We will tell you how to avoid unpleasant symptoms and unnecessary diseases.
What is hemoglobin? It is the most common protein found in erythrocytes (red blood cell is a constituent of blood), which contains up to 80% iron. The main function of hemoglobin is to bind and transport oxygen molecules. Oxygen with the bloodstream is delivered to the cells of all tissues of the body for full functioning. Despite the rather complex descriptions, there are very few external manifestations of the loss of hemoglobin. Moreover, it is difficult for an inexperienced person to recognize them, sometimes even impossible.

Signs:
Signs of an impending illness can easily be mistaken for ordinary fatigue. Overwork, the frantic pace of life, all this, alas, is not at all good for us. However, it's time to listen to your body: perhaps a slight malaise is by no means a side effect of a busy schedule, but obvious symptoms of a sharp decrease in hemoglobin in the blood. We advise you to pay attention to the signals that your body gives. It is possible that he needs urgent help.
A sign of a decrease in hemoglobin can be general permanent fatigue, which you are completely unable to cope with on your own. Now neither a long sleep nor a long rest helps you. Moreover, imperceptibly for you, the duration of your waking hours has sharply decreased - most of the day you sleep or struggle with sleep, risking fainting at work, on public transport, or even on the street.
Also, constant headaches can be a signal for action. The pills no longer help you, and the migraine is not going to recede, in which case it is just right to pay attention to the general condition. The cause of headaches and weakness, in turn, is a decrease in blood pressure, and accordingly, among other signs, your hands and feet may also constantly freeze.

Among other things, you should pay attention to your skin color. Even if you've never been dark, your skin tone can change from bluish to icteric.
Causes:
The first and main reason for a sharp decrease in hemoglobin can be profuse blood loss. This happens in the presence of vascular dystonia and, as a result, with frequent bleeding from the nose. The same goes for prolonged, heavy bleeding during menstruation. True, in the latter case, before taking any measures, you should seek help from a gynecologist.
During illnesses such as colds or flu, hemoglobin tends to decrease. However, after your recovery, the body quickly returns to shape, which cannot be said about chronic diseases. The fact is that they lead to a redistribution of iron in the body. For example, the elderly develop anemia with diseases of the kidneys, lungs, liver, especially long-term ones.
Also, one of the reasons for the lowered hemoglobin can be a variety of diets, dietary restrictions - especially for those who are fond of vegetarianism and raw food. This is due to an insufficiently balanced diet. Still, there are fewer vegetarian foods rich in iron than animals, and therefore you need to be more careful about compiling the menu.

Do not forget that one of the rarest, but, nevertheless, existing causes can be nervous overstrain and constant stress.
Treatment:
Salvation is in iron. The main carriers of the required substance are by-products: liver, kidneys, or tongue. If you are suspicious of such culinary experiments, try to include buckwheat, peas, beans, blueberries, chocolate, and porcini mushrooms in your diet. The listed products have a very high iron content - over four milligrams per 100 grams of the product.
Pay attention to meat: rabbit, lamb, beef, horse meat contain from two to four milligrams of iron.
Also, do not forget about cereals - despite the fact that the percentage of iron in them is much lower than in meat products, nevertheless, a variety of cereals should also be included in your menu. For this case, barley, semolina, pearl barley, and rice are suitable for you.
But often, unfortunately, the measures taken are not enough: you need to adjust your diet not only by adding new products but also by eliminating harmful ones, namely, with a high calcium content, which interferes with the absorption of iron in the body. At least for a while, try to give up milk and various dairy products. The same goes for tea and coffee. In addition, you will have to forget about the existence of bread, pasta, and other flour products. The fact is that wheat and any other cereals ( see also: "Ideal menu: dishes from cereals" ) interfere with the absorption of iron in the body.
