HOW TO IMPROVE THE BUSINESS WRITING:
Business writing is full of industry-specific buzzwords and acronyms. While these terms are sometimes unavoidable and can occasionally be helpful as shorthand, they often indicate lazy or cluttered thinking. Throw in too many, and your reader will assume you are on autopilot or worse, not understand what you're saying. Writers often mistakenly believe using a big word when a simple one will do is a sign of intelligence. It's not.
THINK BEFORE YOU WRITE:
Before you put pen to paper or hands to keyboard, consider what you want to say,
"The mistake of many people make is they start writing prematurely"
They work out the thoughts as they're writing, which makes their writing less structured, meandering, and repetitive. You should ask yourself: What should my audience know or think after reading these emails, proposals, or Reports? If the answer isn't immediately clear, you're moving too quickly.
"Step back and spend more time collecting your thought"
BE DIRECT
Make your point right upfront. Many people find that the writing style and structure they developed in school don't work as well in the business world.
"One of the great diseases of business writing is post pointing the message to the middle part of the writing"
By succinctly presenting your main idea first, you save your reader time and sharpen your argument before diving into the bulk of your writing. When writing longer memos and proposals. If your opener is no good, then the whole piece of writing will be no good.
READ WHAT YOU WRITE?
Put yourself in your reader's shoes. Is your point clear and well structured? Are the sentences straightforward and concise? and then reading the passage out loud.
"That's where those flaws reveal themselves: The gap in your arguments, the clunky sentence, the section that's two paragraphs too long"
Don't be afraid to ask a colleague or friend - or better than several colleagues or friends - to edit your work. Editing is an act of friendship, it is not an act of aggression.
PRACTICE EVERY DAY:
Writing is a skill and skill that improve with practice. Reading well-written material every day, and being attentive to word choice, sentences structure, and flow.
"Start paying attention to the style of the wall street Journal"
Most importantly, build time into your schedule for editing and revising. Writing and reworking your writing is where change happens, make it not quick, The time is well spent because good writers distinguish themselves the job.
==> Create a Consistent Publishing Schedule
Create a consistent schedule for when you want content published. For example, let's say you want to publish two articles a week.
Create a list of topics and titles for your writer for the month. Make sure any questions about the assignment are answered before they start.
Contact your article publisher and let them know when to expect the articles. You can send them all the articles at once and ask for them to be published twice a week, or just send the articles to them to be published as they come to you.
This whole process will take a week or two to set up. But once it's up and going, something miraculous will happen: you'll get all the benefits of article marketing, while putting in very little time yourself. Just sit back and work on other areas of your business while the article traffic starts coming in.
