Experts advise frequent exercise, mindfulness, and stress-reduction breathing exercises. To unwind, though, you can do something as easy and pleasurable as play with your pet, read a nice book, sit in a hot tub, or listen to relaxing music. 

You should heed this advise because extended periods of stress can lead to or worsen a variety of health issues, such as obesity, migraines, heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Too little time on your hands? Keep your cool about that. Like exercise, even little stretches of time spent relaxing are good.

It is far too simple to overindulge in salt when there is a saltshaker on the dinner table, which can raise blood pressure. Thus, store the shaker in a pantry or cupboard and just use it while you're cooking.

Before adding salt, it's a good idea to taste your dish. It might turn out not to require any more.

In addition, you can experiment with adding herbs, garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon or lime juice, or a seasoning blend without added salt to your food. To ensure you always have your favorite dried and fresh herbs on hand to flavor your cuisine, stock your pantry and refrigerator with them.

Thus, go ahead and sip that glass of merlot with your evening meal unless there's a medical reason not to ; you can even raise a toast to your health.

However, use alcohol sparingly. Just as moderate use of red wine offers health advantages, excessive alcohol consumption, especially in the form of red wine, can lead to a number of health issues, including as cancer, liver, and kidney disease.

Women in particular should use caution when consuming alcohol. Women are more prone than males to have liver issues even with smaller alcohol use since they are generally more susceptible to liver issues.

It is generally not harmful for a healthy guy to have two drinks each day; however, ladies should only have one drink per day.
