20 health tips for 2022
The start of a brand-new decade brings with it new resolutions to improve your life, which includes a more appropriate lifestyle. Here are 20 common sense fitness guidelines to get you started on your path to healthy living in 2020.
1: Eat a healthy diet
Eat a combination of different foods, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and whole grains. Adults should eat at least five portions (400g) of fruit and vegetables a day. You can improve your fruit and vegetable intake by always including vegetables in your meals; eat fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks; eat a variety of fruits and vegetables; and eat them in season. Eating healthy will reduce your risk of malnutrition and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
2: Eat less sugar and salt
Filipinos eat twice the recommended amount of sodium, making them prone to high blood pressure, which itself increases the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke. Most human beings obtain sodium through salt. Reduce your salt intake to 5g per day, which is about one teaspoon. It is easier to try it by reducing the amount of salt, soy sauce, fish sauce and various spices with excessive sodium content in the preparation of ready meals; get rid of salt, spices and condiments from your dinner table; avoid salty snacks; and deciding on low-sodium products. On the other hand, consuming excessive amounts of sugars will increase the risk of enamel decay and poor weight gain. In adults and children, consumption of unbound sugar must be reduced to much less than 10% of total energy intake. This equates to 50g, or approximately 12 teaspoons for an adult. The WHO recommends eating much less than 5% of total energy intake for additional fitness benefits. You can reduce your sugar intake by limiting your intake of sugary snacks, treats and sugar-sweetened beverages.
3: Limit your intake of harmful fats
Fats eaten must be much less than 30% of your total electricity intake. This will help you save bad body weight and NCD. There are different forms of fat, but unsaturated fats are the most effective than saturated fats and trans fats. The WHO recommends reducing saturated fat to much less than 10% of total electricity intake; reducing trans fats to much less than 1% of total electricity intake; and changing every saturated fat and trans fat to unsaturated fat.
The most effective unsaturated fats are found in fish, avocados, and nuts, and in sunflower, soybean, canola, and olive oils; saturated fat is seen in fatty meats, butter, palm and coconut oil, cream, cheese, ghee and lard; and trans fats are seen in fried and baked foods and prepackaged snacks and foods that include frozen pizza, cookies, crackers, and cooking oils and spreads.
4: Avoid the harmful use of alcohol
There is no safe stage for alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption can result in fitness problems along with intellectual and behavioral disorders, including alcohol dependence, essential non-communicable diseases along with cirrhosis of the liver, several cancers and coronary heart disease, as well as accidents caused by violence and street clashes and collisions.
5: Don't smoke
Tobacco smoking causes NCDs along with lung disease, coronary heart disease and stroke. Tobacco is now most effective in killing direct people who smoke, but even non-smokers through secondhand exposure. Currently, there are about 15.9 million Filipino adults who smoke tobacco. However, 7 out of 10 people who smoke are fascinated or plan to quit.
If you are currently a smoker, it is not too late to quit. Once you do, you can enjoy the on-the-spot and long-term benefits of fitness. If you're not a smoker, that's great! Stop smoking now and fight your right breathing of tobacco, smoke and free air
6: Be active
Physical entertainment is described as any physical movement produced by skeletal muscle groups that requires the output of electricity. This consists of exercise and sports at work, play, sports family chores, travel and attraction in leisure time. The amount of physical fun you want depends on your age institution, but adults aged 18 to 64 must get at least one hundred and fifty minutes of moderately deep physical fun during the week. Increase medium-depth body fun to three hundred minutes consistent with the week for additional fitness benefits.
7: Check your blood pressure often
Hypertension, or excessive blood pressure, is referred to as the "silent killer". This is due to the fact that many people who have high blood pressure may not be aware of the problem, as they may not have any symptoms now. If high blood pressure is not controlled, it can cause heart, brain, kidney and various diseases. Get your blood pressure checked frequently by a medical professional, so you know your numbers. If your blood pressure is excessive, get a doctor's recommendation. This is essential for internal prevention and management of high blood pressure.
