Nowadays, the market is filled with thousands of different scents and hundreds of different perfume companies. If you've never purchased perfume before and are unsure of which scent is best for you or a friend, check out internet perfume review websites like http://boisdejasmin.typepad.com/ or ask a friend to find out which scent is most widely used. You can then head outside to a department store to test it out on your skin.
Trial and testing Perfume
You can try perfume in one of two ways: directly on your skin or using scent blotters. If you only use one way of testing, these two methods have advantages and disadvantages.
You can accurately determine how a perfume smells on your skin by testing it on a small area of skin, but you shouldn't test too many different perfumes at once since they will all mix with the first one and you won't get the true scent of those fragrances.
You can spray multiple cards with different fragrances after testing them on the fragrance blotters, then label the back of each card with the fragrance's name. However, using this method of testing won't exactly reveal how it smells on your skin.
The easiest way to choose the fragrance you like and the appropriate perfume for your skin is to first test the fragrance blotters on, then pick the scent you prefer and try it on your skin.
Different Perfume Types
There are four primary categories of perfume.
Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Cologne, and Parfum.
They differ in price because they range in concentration from the lowest to the highest.
Today, a perfume solution with a 3 percent component in an oil and water base is referred to as eau de cologne (EDC). It is the least expensive perfume because it is the lightest.
A perfume solution containing a 3–8% component in an oil and water basis is called Eau de Toilette (EDT). It costs a little more.
Eau de Parfum (EDP) is a 10-15% compounded perfume solution.
With a 20–50% compound content, parfum has the highest oil concentration of all the scents, making it the most expensive and longest-lasting.
Size of Perfume
There are various sizes of perfume packaging. In Australia and other nations, we measure by ml while most countries in Europe and the USA measure by oz. 30ml are contained in 1 oz, hence 1 oz = 30ml. The most typical sizes are typically 50ml, 75ml, or 100ml. If you're purchasing the fragrance for the first time, we recommend starting with the sample size bottle. Purchase the large bottle if you have worn the fragrance before and really enjoy it because they are typically the greatest bargain.
A small sample known as a vial on card or vial mini is also available; these bottles are typically for testing purposes. You should purchase the sample sizes to try them out before making the decision to purchase a larger bottle.
Where to purchase perfume
You already know the perfume brand, style, and size that you prefer and that fits you the best. It's time to comparison shop for the best deal. Because they don't need to hire a large staff or pay a large rent in the shopping center, perfume online businesses can typically sell it for less than most department stores or retail outlets. Additionally, a larger variety of brands as well as certain difficult-to-find perfume can be found through online perfume retailers.
Buying a right Perfume can be a very hard decision but if you do enough homework I am sure that you will find the best perfume for yourself. Next article, we will share with you on how to wear and store perfume.
