E-commerce
HOW TO EARN MONEY WITH E COMMERCE : The first way of earning some extra cash is with your own websites, but those you’ve already built won’t do. If only one or a few sites sell something, they are worthless. That’s a big no-no for most businesses. Not only is this risky, it might be impossible to do so (or at least would require an in-depth knowledge of all things web). Instead, consider what other marketers and salespeople have done, from taking customer surveys to selling their email lists. They offer great opportunities for you to get their services or products, then make more money. And if the clients want discounts, perhaps as simple as 10 per cent off, then you can use these offers to increase your income. It doesn’t take much to become a good marketer or sales rep, even if you have zero experience, and you don’t need very many people to do that. The second way is to have your website make money. Again, this may not work out for everyone, but there’s nothing wrong with looking into various methods to make your site profitable. For instance, you could offer paid search advertising services to people that use Google. In short, find ways that will help you grow your business and allow you to make more money by selling your website/product/service. Another option is to set up a store within your company. This means you’ll need to invest time and money in training staff on how to manage your merchandise and stock (although I can imagine that some employees might prefer working under someone else’s direction). You could also look at offering delivery services as well. The next opportunity is to build a small scale shop from scratch. Whether you choose to start by marketing your own range of items or use Amazon (if you have an account) to help others to find what they might like, this allows you to see just how successful other companies are. From here you can decide whether to expand it, go into a bigger shop, or create an ‘alternative retailer’. In fact, my personal opinion is to make the best choice for entrepreneurs, which is to open a smaller branch and start using online stores and markets. Online stores are easier to manage and have lower prices than traditional ones. If your customers are loyal, then you will be able to make far greater profits. So yes – building up your own online store is a great way to boost your earnings and profits. But how do we pay for a website? Well, it depends on your budget. Your local council might allow you to install a free internet broadband service in your area and charge for that service. There are plenty of websites offering free internet browsing and free downloads. But remember, most marketing agencies such as Google Ads and SEO providers offer absolutely no fees for this service. That might mean a tiny amount compared to their marketing budgets, but that’s still a lot of money – especially if you’ve invested hundreds in these services. The last way is to try selling through different platforms, as I’ve already mentioned above. However, most businesses still aren’t doing as well on platform advertising as on ads – and that’s due to a number of factors – both internal, such as lack of expertise, or external, such as over-saturation of competition. Instead, I think a better approach would be to sell directly to customers on your own website – to their advantage. It’s quite possible that Facebook is simply the better product to promote. Although many startups are choosing to build their own branded pages to launch their own shops, others are opting for Facebook as the main product promotion method for brands. When doing so, it’s important to understand that all it takes is a quick bit of research, an advert in the right place, and some luck in getting the page noticed. Now, let me leave you with the obvious solution: You can advertise through FB, but you’ll need the same marketing and brand experience you’d hope to get when promoting on Google. Even then, I wouldn’t recommend using FB for long, as it seems to struggle to compete with the giants.
