If you have recently purchased an auto audio system then I am sure you have encountered many full-featured entertainment programs among those still claiming your audio dollars and entertainment. Cars today offer everything from DVD players, individual speakers, headphones (and can be adjusted on their own), and even two players that will allow one different sound to be played in one part of the car than the other. On top of all these amazing and beautiful machines there are other devices designed to tempt, move, and convince you to spend more money on the auto sound system of your dreams. Some of these even offer MP3 players that connect directly to the sound system of your car, truck, or SUV.
The judge is still waiting for many people about the safety and feeling of having a DVD player in your car. Despite this, people will continue to purchase DVD players that are part and parcel of their audio and entertainment programs and manufacturers will continue to integrate attractive packages that offer these devices to consumers while offering amazing deals on installation. I know that many see this as an unnecessary distraction for drivers. I am one of the rare people who feel that on the day of laptops, cell phones, chat radio, fast food, Starbucks coffee, and many other things, a rear DVD can be one of the best features that can be added to a car in an effort to minimize distractions from the unhappy passengers.
I will admit that many people are wondering what this has to do with the auto sound system and I understand that question so please bear with me. One of the features offered by sound system manufacturers is a feature that allows headphones for rear passengers and LCD monitors that sit at the back of the head so that rear passengers can see and hear the DVDs being played. without causing disturbance to the driver (either by noise or by flashing lights).
The fact of the matter is that having a sound from a DVD player in the background is no less a distraction than having unsatisfied children competing for attention sitting in the back or listening to audio books as you drive. I must admit that audio books are one of my most popular and widely accepted drugs. The problem with those is that sometimes some of the books are not meant for the little ears. I try to keep my books limited to popular children’s stories whenever my kids ride and I keep Stephanie Plum’s hot and often funny stories when I ride alone. Another good reason to make sure you have an auto audio system that reads and understands MP3s at least.
Technology exists in this regard and I expect to see more technological innovations speak in the way of car audio systems and entertainment programs in the not too distant future. We live in a world where technology is constantly changing and we have to see many new and amazing features that will make our lives more enjoyable for our daily journey.
Whether you are new to modern technology, fighting hard, or accepting it with pleasure — it does not show any signs of stopping or slowing down. This means that you will eventually face the fact that the old methods of buying an auto sound system will expire. I often joke that we are soon becoming a society that achieves the "Jetson" vision of the future. I also cry a lot for my lack of Rosie. In any case, I am pleased to see that the new technology in auto audio systems offers the same size as the rest of the image and offers very unique systems, even for passengers inside the car.
