HOW TO DO FISHERIES BUSINESS AND MAKE ECONOMIC PROGRESS EASILY? 2021 EARNING STRATEGIES

Not all farmers can raise fish. Fishing is a business done at sea, and fishers have been doing it for a long time. Therefore, ordinary farmers can't do this business. However, it is also possible to do fish business between natural ponds, lakes, seepage ponds, and dam reservoirs.

The government and the farmers do not pay much attention to this freshwater fisheries business. But that is not the case. If it is increased, the fishery and prawn farming business can be developed for the farmers.

WHAT ARE FISHERIES?

About 72% of our earth's surface is covered by water and only 29% land. Since man lives on land, it is natural for him to be more attracted to land. But even with a water table that is more than double the land size, fish is an important factor in the growing population and the need for food. Fishing is the business of extracting living things from such water.

Fish Farming Business can be done in the following ways.

VILLAGE-POND FISH CONSERVATION

Lakes are public or, in some places, owned by the gram panchayat. So people from the village can come together and fish here. Most of the time, such lakes are very fertile. So we get a lot of fish production here.

FISH CONSERVATION IN ALKALINE AREAS

Many farmlands have become saline or chopped due to excessive use of water. These lands are barren and of no use to agriculture. Shrimp can be reared in this lake by digging a pond. Thus lakes have been constructed, which provide good production of shrimp. Shrimp is priced at Rs 300 to Rs 500 in the market.

FARM FISH CONSERVATION

The government is encouraging farmers to set up farms to store water for centuries. The area of these farms is 0.05 to 0.5 hectares. Proper breeding of fish gives a good yield of fish. Farmers from different parts have grown Katla, Rohu, Pankaj, etc., in such farms. If the depth of the pond is less, fish hatcheries can be prepared on this farm.

FISH CONSERVATION IN QUARTERLY PONDS

In many places, small ponds have water only for four to five months of the rainy season. With proper management in such ponds, fish botukali can be made from fish fry (fish cumin). These can be released to grow in large ponds or reservoirs.

MECHANISM

Fish farming is about releasing the right amount of fish seeds of the right species in the pond and catching the fish when it grows up; it also creates favorable conditions in the pond to grow those fish seeds.

  SITE SELECTION

Pond space should be in flat or low-lying areas. This reduces the cost of excavation. Wetlands or land without drainage is suitable. The soil should be more than a mixture of clay and silt.

MARKET

The need for food is also increasing daily as the population is growing at a huge rate. Therefore, the daily demand for fish is increasing. As a result, there is a large market for fish business from local to international level.

GOVERNMENT SCHEME

A loan facility is available for this industry under Mudra Fisheries. Also, since fish is a perishable commodity, it does not go bad. Soon, the fishermen's cooperative society gets a grant under the National Co-operative Development to purchase trucks, diesel, and tankers for transporting fish and ice.

COST FOR THE PROJECT

Starting this industry initially costs around Rs. 4 to 5 lakhs. Also, the cost of the project can be more or less according to the capacity and demand. A currency loan facility is available for this industry. Incentive grants are also available from the government. Banks also provide loans based on your credit.
