A guide to Astral Travel

If you're interested in meditation, lucid dreaming, or other holistic healing approaches, you've come across the concept of astral projection. Astral projection is an ancient esoteric tradition that may be found in many civilizations throughout the world. Still, it's also widely utilized as a self-help tool and a means to improve your spiritual practice today.

So, what is astral projection, exactly? To summarise, it's a planned out-of-body experience that entails entering a dreamy but still-conscious state (which can be reached through meditation and self-hypnosis) and "traveling" to different realms in space and time utilizing your mind's power. It's similar to being in a dream, except you're fully awake, aware, and in command of your actions.

Lets Begin

"Beginners should start with some meditation," Brown advises. Start by introducing a few minutes of mental stillness into your daily routine if you don't already have a personal meditation practice. If you're having trouble calming your mind and finding your zen on your own, try meditating with crystals, watching free guided meditation videos, or downloading a meditation app.

Some people may then choose to try self-hypnosis, which allows them to delve even further into a trance-like condition. "Through self-hypnosis, we can communicate with people on the astral realm," astrologer Lisa Stardust tells Bustle. This is similar to meditation, only you delve deeper into your astral body and start focusing on a specific aim and goal, like heavenly flight.

Finally, lucid dreaming is a valuable tool for getting started on the path to astral projection since it allows you to connect with another state of consciousness in a more intentional and controlled way — especially if you're already doing spiritual dream work.

Connection to the Astral Plane and Your Astral Self

Now that you've mastered entering a deep, meditative trance, you can begin to connect with your astral body. "Try to feel your traveling self (a more transparent form of oneself) lifting up and out of the body during meditation," Brown advises. "Once you've got that down, work on spinning around and viewing your physical body."It might not happen right away, but keep practicing."If it doesn't come naturally, try intentionally envisioning and aligning with your etheric body, and don't be disheartened if it takes several meditation sessions to feel linked.

You can begin to reach the astral plane, or the unlimited mental space unbound by the human world, after feeling confident in your celestial body. "Dreams, meditation, regulated breathing, visualization, and letting go of our consciousness are all ways to connect and align with the astral realm," Stardust said.

Start Your Astral Travels

"Consciously intend to transport yourself to a specific destination after [connecting with your astral body," Brown explains. It's ideal for venturing into cosmic space with a specific destination or objective in mind rather than wandering. Your goal could be to communicate with a spirit guide, go to a different time or location, or find spiritual answers to questions you have on the physical realm. Always be cautious when astral projecting, and subsequently, employ energetic cleansing techniques to guarantee you didn't pick up any strange, unwelcome vibes.

" While newcomers to the practice may not always succeed in reaching their goals or entering the astral plane, the more you practice, the greater your abilities will become. I wish you safe (astral) travels!
