 Steps of manicure

   These basic steps will help you to do a manicure on your own in a professional way.   

 Step-by-step instructions for your manicure

The first step – Clean your nails from old varnish or nail polish for this wipe the nails with nail polish remover and cotton pads. Wipe the nails with nail polish remover every time, If there is varnish on the nails or not.

The second step -  Using scissors or clippers, trim your nails to the required length.  You can go straight to the third step If you don’t want to shorten your nails.

The third step – File your nails with soft movements in one direction you can round the nails very carefully. Do not file the nails very actively on the nail sides.  Also avoid moving the nail file in a “left-right” pattern, which leads to de-lamination of nails. Use a natural nail file with 180-200 grit

The fourth step – Using a polishing file, sand the edges and lightly polish the nail surface. Do not over smoothen the surface to attain a mirror shine.

The fifth step -  Gently push back the lower layer of the cuticle- pterygium  and cuticle using a cuticle pusher stick

Sixth Step -  Apply a special cuticle remover which softens the cuticle.  After  20-30 seconds of waiting,  gently push back the cuticle one more time. Do not press hard on it.  You can use a fat cream instead of cuticle remover. Trim and remove the burrs and cuticle with special cutters or scissors.

Seventh step - Massage hand with hand moisturising cream.

The eighth step -  Wipe again your nails with nail polish remover or spirit which helps remove excess oil from the nails

The ninth step –  Apply base coat, which prevents the nails from yellowing. Even if you plan to use nail polish or varnish also it is better to use a base coat first. Stepping back a little from the cuticle, while applying a base coat or nail polish is better to step back a little from the cuticle.

The tenth step – Apply the nail polish of your choice on the top of the base coat.
