How to deal with a rude girl in salsa dancing?

This is something I have experienced myself. I assumed that since everyone was friendly in my dance studio class, it would be the same experience at the Salsa dance club. That couldn't be further from the truth. Learning to navigate a salsa club or social network for someone new to the scene is something everyone should learn. Especially what to expect to avoid misunderstandings and disappointments. These tips I share are based on my own experience and are my opinion, so take them with a grain of salt Some people tend to be friendly and warmer to those they know and know. In the salsa club and even at social events, ladies are sometimes harassed a lot. Some tend to be indifferent to new people. The more you go, the more familiar you are with them. In time, you will see that the place as a whole warms you, and you're to the new place Everyone expects you to be able to dance, and everyone goes there for that purpose. When I was a beginner dancer, I danced with girls who were far beyond my skills. I could see the eyes rolling at me and the "I'm really bored" look. You could tell they couldn't wait for the song to end. I believe (and now teach my students) to be warm and help others stay motivated on their dance journey, especially beginners. But in the salsa scene, for the most part, if you go to a place where everyone knows how to dance, they expect you to know how to dance well Some places are friendlier than others. Every salsa club and venue carries the vibe and energy of the teacher or promoter who runs the place. Try a few different locations and see how one location differs from another. Stick to places where it's right for you and you feel welcome. These places exist, you just have to find them Go out with friends to dance. This works really well. You dance and have fun with your friends, but you also dance with your friends Focus on dancing with followers at or below your level. As the lead, you'll be asking everyone to dance, and you'll also get a lot of "no, thank you" responses. One of the things I teach my student leaders is to scan the dance room. Ask those on your level or below your level to dance. Especially the ones below your level because they make you feel appreciated and have a lot of fun. This will help you build the confidence you need for ballroom dancing Then, once you feel confident, ask someone above your level to dance. If they say no, it won't affect you because your self-esteem is high trust me, it works. Sometimes ladies will tell you no when asked to dance. Sometimes because they don't know you. Sometimes because they danced too much and take a break. Sometimes they want to dance with those on their level or with better dancers. Whatever the reason, don't take it personally. We think that because they say no to dancing, they are rude Some followers have superstar egos. Ignore them and focus on the friendly ones. Dance and ask for dances from those who are always smiling and having a great time on the dance floor. I hope these little tips help. Know that there are a lot of nice and friendly people out there. Just look for them and you will find them.
