How to create SEO friendly content

What is the key metric to measure the success of content?

76% of our respondents stated that it is organic traffic. However, the difficulty of creating content that drives organic traffic is the top challenge for 52% of marketers surveyed.

When you already know the exact steps to take, adding the SEO stage before creating any content will not be as complicated for your creative process. And the benefits are worth it: this optimization can have a positive impact on your performance in the long run.

By optimizing your text you can:

  • Save time in the future: You can get long-term results when traffic comes to your site every month without investing heavily in promoting that content.

  • Create valuable content: answer the questions that the audience asks.

  • Attract new audiences: People who have found the answer to their question in your article can become loyal audiences and even ambassadors for your brand.

"Organic or word-of-mouth traffic is what helps build your site's reputation with users and Google. This rarely comes without quality content, "In this article, we'll walk you through nine easy steps to create SEO-friendly content, so you can deliver more value to your audience.” says Google.

In this article, we'll walk you through nine easy steps to create SEO-friendly content, so you can deliver more value to your audience.

1. Start with keyword research

Keyword research is the foundation for successful organic content distribution. Keywords are the terms that people enter into search engines to find information about a topic.

 2. Determine search intent and identify the correct format

Search intent is what users are trying to get and what they expect to see when typing or expressing a query. Google devotes a lot of attention to programming algorithms to correctly evaluate user intent.

Also, encourage content creators to respond to such requests with relevant material.

 3. Create a well-optimized meta title

The title or headline of your article is not necessarily the title that will show up in search results. Consider that your article has two titles: the H1 tag that is displayed on the page and the meta title tag that is displayed in the snippet of the search results.

 4. Create an attractive H1

If you need to add more creativity to your article, there is a little more space in the H1 tag than in the title tag.

Here's what to keep in mind when writing your H1 headline:

Create a unique H1. This will help prevent visitors from getting confused between similar pages on your site.

Use words similar to "how", "why", "what", and "where" . In this way, you help people understand what they will find on the page: guides and how-to articles also generate twice as much traffic compared to other types.

Use numbers like 'top 10', 'top 5', 'X things...', etc . List headline articles get 2x more traffic and 2x more social shares than other types.

Describe what the body of the text is about.

The H1 of the page should describe the content. Otherwise, Google considers the discrepancy as low content quality.

 5. Optimize the meta description

The meta description is what users see below your page title in Google results. It can be the perfect way to encourage a user to click on your link instead of the other options.

 6. Structure your content and make it readable

Imagine that you open one of the Google results and there is a text with huge paragraphs. What is the probability that you continue reading? You'll probably use Ctrl+F or just quit to find a better-structured article.

By leaving the site, the time spent on the site will decrease and the bounce rate will increase. This is not good for the positioning of your website.

 7. Add visual content

People remember only 10% of the information they read, however, if they see the information visually, that figure is already 65%; this is how our brain works. By using visual elements in your content, you can express an idea so that visitors remember it and can share it.

 8. Make your URL readable

Keywords in URLs are a minor ranking factor. However, writing a quality URL and descriptive page content will help your readers understand what the content is about.

 9. Adjust internal linking

Internal links are those that point from one page to another on your website, while external links are those that point from your site to any other external site.
