How to Convert Traffic to Adsense Traffic ?

If you've been running AdSense ads on your site for a long time, and you don't think you're making as much money as you can, you're right in 99.99% of cases. Most people are frustrated that they are not getting the revenue they expected, and it depends on their traffic levels as well as their click-through rate.

There are many ways to convert traffic to AdSense traffic, and here is a short list with an explanation for each.

The first thing you need to do is to set up your site's content. While this may not be an option for some people (which is much more difficult if you run a forum, for example), most people can turn their AdSense site into real cash.

To get started, you should learn what your site's keywords are. This is a fundamental technique in SEO (search engine optimization) known as keyword density validation.

You should then take this list of words and search the Overture Search Inventory or Google Ads Sandbox to find which words might do better than what you currently have.

From this point on, try to focus your site on what mostly appears in the keyword suggestions you get. Try to include these keywords, or at least some relevant keywords, in the links on your site as often as possible.

Due to the way Google AdSense works, this is a surefire way to increase your earnings as you will get better ads on your AdSense banners, similar to how you will get a better Google PageRank.

It is also important that you constantly add new pages to your site. This is very important because the more pages you have, the higher your chances of getting clicks on your ads.

It is also very important that you choose the appropriate formats for your AdSense banners and the best places for them. While this is a much broader topic, you should know that generally the top three Google AdSense formats are: 336×280 large rectangle 300×250 medium rectangle and 160×600 skyscraper.

Make sure you choose the appropriate colors for the ads, because making them too different (or just badly different) from your site's content will make visitors see them as banners that have nothing to do with the site itself.

Make sure these ads are placed where they will generate the most profit. Often times, this location is said to be just before the start of your site's actual content.

You may find that on pages with a long text body, skyscrapers perform better because users are exposed to them for longer periods of time. You may also find a good position to be at the bottom of your content for sites with news or similar items because that's when people will finish reading your story and are looking for something else to do.

If you have a lot of text on your page, you should use more AdSense units. Just make sure you don't overdo it, because using this technique inappropriately, you may find that you will get a much lower CTR and lower revenue than you did in the first place.

There is a Google AdSense Preview Tool that allows you to visualize which ads will be served on your page and can be very useful as a testing mechanism.

Make sure you follow the AdSense policy on click fraud. As a pointer, you can place an image next to your ads, making sure to leave some space in between to make sure this isn't seen as encouraging visitors to click the link.

Of course, there are more ways to increase AdSense traffic from your site, but these should serve as a good starting point for revenue maximization.
