How To Control Hair Fall

Hair fall has become a common problem these days.  It is seen both in men and women due to several factors. Let's just brief the problem and discuss early remedies taken at home.

Hair fall hampers our self-confidence, especially having baldness at early age.  It is normal if it is around 50 to 150 strands daily.  But when hair grows back slower than it falls, definitely hair loss is initiated.

Hair fall has three cycles, they are

a. Growth

b. Transition; and

c. Shedding.

If these three are balanced then it is considered as natural process and not a concern.  In addition to this, if several other factors manifests like vitamin deficiency, sudden weight loss due to change in diet, over processed scalp hair, toxic substances including chemotherapy, radiation and side effects of medicine consumed then one can observe significant changes in hair pattern.

Genetics and hereditary issues also play a major role.  For women during and after menopause, hair might become finer, because hair follicles shrink.  Hair grows more slowly and falls out more easily in these cases, sometimes this type of hair loss can be permanent.  Certain hormones and thyroid levels also play an important role in growth of hair follicles.

Some tests like blood test and scalp examination can be done to know the amount of hair fall. The type of treatment dermatologist suggest you depend on the cause of your hair loss.

In cases where hair loss is due to stress or hormone changes like pregnancy, there is no specific treatment require.  Condition will reverse back once stress reduced or after certain period of time.

In cases where hair loss is due to hairstyling practice like tight braids, heat massage, applying chemicals, consumption of toxic medicines, then avoiding these factors can reverse the damage.

In nutritional deficiencies, you might take supplements or hormone tablets.  The food we take play an important role in providing necessary nutrition for hair growth.
