how to Connect with our body

When we are in a creative flow, our minds explode with colors, sounds, words and images so we can sometimes forget that we also have a body. But when unhealthy habits take away your body’s energy and vitality, your creativity and productivity also come out.

What could be more annoying than an uninvited headache, backache, insanity or “shaking” that interrupts your creative flow?

As a guitar player, I once heard the expression “small muscle athlete” —that is, I need to warm up and treat those muscles well. Probably all of us as artists are small muscle athletes. Above all, we need good physical fitness to complete our creative tasks.

Whether propped up on the ezel, for repetitive movements while playing a musical instrument, such as standing on stage across the show or sitting on a computer keyboard for long days, access to all of our creative tools is essential. It is the body.

You need to meditate daily to keep that body firm and flexible.

Get enough sleep, three healthy and balanced meals throughout the day (healthy snacks if you need to), daily self-care practices such as actively moving your body and drinking enough water. You need to take care of your body.

Taking care of the body also has an effect on the mind. Fatigue, malnutrition, inactivity and dehydration all have a negative impact on one's mind and problem-solving, concentration and ability to connect thoughts.

Creative circle and self-care

Traveling with a band, rehearsing for a show, or burning oil in the middle of the night to finish a painting before the gallery opens are examples of extraordinary situations in which we can relax our self-care discipline and rules. New set of.

Then, at the end of a show or tour or episode, we sometimes sink into an anti-climactic "low" or transitional period before getting into the creative flow.

The daily practice you do when things are “normal” increases resilience when these abnormalities arise. They also shape the habits and healthy life skills you can acquire when life is more challenging.

Keep in the game

One of the best exercises for a healthy body, mind and soul is to get enough sleep and rest. Tonight, finish your evening activities half an hour early and spend that time finishing. Take away the worries of the day by writing or talking about them. Stay calm with a bath, tea, massage, music or a nice reading that does not remind you of your work.

We can all find reasons for not being able to exercise, not being able to make different food choices and not being able to focus more on our health.

You have an irresistible creative gift to share with the world, but your creativity depends on a healthy mind and body.

So what is more important than your reasons for not taking care of yourself?

. Be A Little Illogical. It is a peculiarly Western trait to want to tie things up in neat bundles. We prefer solutions to problems, and answers to questions. To be creative, you need to be comfortable with things that don’t fit. The Eastern tradition is more in tune with incongruence. As in this Zen koan, or problem: what is the sound of one hand clapping
