Looking for ways to reduce the number of files that need to be sent back and forth in an online connection? Want to make your online file sharing easier? Need to combine PDFs into a single file to make saving and reading easier?
The coronavirus infection has forced the digital transformation of many companies. Before the epidemic, only a third of American workers worked from their homes. Now, this is one of the biggest changes in most industries and almost all businesses are moving towards it.
File sharing is one of the many simple and confusing issues that employees face. In this guide, we will teach you how to combine multiple PDFs into one PDF. Read on to find out how and why this technical information is important.
1. Combine two PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Pro
For this method, we are going to focus on using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. It is available for both Windows and Mac computers. You can get an Adobe Acrobat Pro DC subscription for $14.99 per year.
If you already have it, open the Adobe Acrobat DC software. Look for the Tools tab. Click on it and select "Combine Files" to get started.
Next, you need to add the files you want to attach. Click "Add Files" and start selecting. Do not worry about choosing them in the right order.
When you select the files you want to attach, you can drag and drop them to reorder. If you have additional files of your choice, press the "Delete" button to remove them. Next, click "Combine Files".
When you are done attaching the files, click "Save". Note, with Adobe Acrobat, you can add all non-PDF files and convert them to PDF. This is our first time linking to PDF files.
2. Use a website to link PDFs
The next way to put PDFs together is to use online resources. You can go to websites like PDF Joiner or other websites that can link to PDFs. It is best to use this method if you do not have time to install and download the program.
For this example, we will focus on PDF Joiner. First, go to the PDF link website at https://pdfjoiner.com/. Next, click the Upload Files button that appears in the center of the page.
The File Explorer or Finder window will open. Find the files you want to save as a PDF file on your computer. To start uploading your PDF files, click Open in the lower right corner of the window.
If you have to select more than two files, keep in mind that the limit is 20 PDF files. That is, if you are trying to attach a lot of PDFs, you will have to use this method multiple times. If you need to go back and add other files, use the reopen button.
After uploading the files, check that they are in the correct order. If they are not, select and drag them in the correct order. Finally, click Add to Files to link them. The output will be downloaded to your download's folder by default.
3. Create an integrated PDF with Finder
For Mac users, here's an easy-to-use alternative to Adobe Acrobat. MacOS makes it easy to attach multiple PDFs, even with the built-in finder. You need the latest versions of MacOS Mojave and Catalina.
If you open Finder, you will notice that it shows previews of files. It also adds a context menu on the page for quick actions. For most files, you can use the "Create PDF" function from the Quick Action menu on the right.
Open the finder and select the files you want to attach as a PDF. Next, in the Preview window, under Previews, click the Create PDF button. A new PDF is automatically available.
You can preview the new PDF. If you want to change the page order, drag the side thumbnails to the left. Rename the new file when you are done.
You can find other ways to combine PDFs together on Mac.
4. Download and merge PDF
Another third-party program you can use to attach PDFs is PDF Merger & Splitter. It's available for free on the Microsoft Store. It is easy to use and safe for your computer.
Once you have it installed, launch the program and click "Combine PDF". Click "Add PDF" and select the files you want to attach. They will appear in the list in PDF Merger & Splitter.
If you want to rearrange the order, select the PDF file and click the Move Up or Move Down buttons at the top of the list. When everything is in order, click "Combine PDFs", type the name of the new PDF file and save.
5. Why attach PDFs as a document?
If you need to send a PDF document by email, you can only attach files up to 25 MB. If you use Mail.com, file attachment limits are up to 50 MB. To get this, you need to create a lot of emails to the recipient.
Another solution is to use online storage services that offer limited storage for free. For example, Google Drive only offers 15 GB of free storage. If you need more space, you will have to pay $1.99 per month to upgrade.
If the file size is not a problem, it may be an array of confusing PDF files. If you send a lot of files to another person, the order of the files may be mixed in the link process. Selecting links and uploading or downloading will take more work and time.
