How to clean and organize your computer.

Nowadays,  PC works as an office. Save files, programs, photos. This can be compared to real office files, equipment and decorations. The application is an organizer. With this picture in mind, think of the office you visited that was slow and ineffective. There were apparently "many"  different causes for the inability. This is similar to a computer. There may be many things that slow down your computer. Perhaps the most overlooked thing is the chaos and chaos.

Disk Cleaning

The office can accumulate large amounts of unwanted files, equipment, and decorations. This is the similar to your computer. One of the best ways to handle this situation is to work from the bottom of the list, eliminating issues that aren't worth the fight. On Windows, this cleaning application will be called "disk cleaning." It removes a variety of unessential files depending on your options.

To clean the disk in Windows XP,  do not simply click "My Computer" under the start menu. Right-click on c drive  and select Properties. Then click "disk cleanup" and follow the steps. When you choose files to clean, or delete, Windows will provide you with information that can help you decide. When viewing a list of file types, you can simply click on the file type name and read the description below in the description. This will let you know if the files can be safely deleted. To select a group of files, simply check the box next to the group name. When you are done selecting, press "OK" to complete.

Now, doing a disk cleaning does not take much time, just a few minutes, and it may save you a lot of time by finally making your computer run faster. However, disk cleaning should be done periodically rather than just once in a large time. One way to do this is to work from time to time to do scheduled work. This will allow your computer to run automatically at intervals of your time and date. However, you can always run it yourself from time to time without creating a planned task.

Add or Remove Programs

The information provided above may help you to remove some unnecessary files, but you may also need to clean some unnecessary programs.

This is found in the control panel and lists all your currently installed programs and uninstall option. It is a good idea to browse the app to add or remove programs from time to time to make sure all programs are useful.

If there are any programs listed that are no longer in use, you can simply highlight the program and click the Uninstallation button. Windows will start the uninstallation procedure in most conditions, to complete the uninstallation process, it is wise to restart your computer. This will also discard cached files.

The app for adding or removing programs is very useful, but not all programs are pre-listed. Programs that are pre-installed on your computer and Windows operating system can also be uninstalled. For example, Outlook Express is an automated email program that comes with the Windows XP app. If you do not use this email program, you can uninstall it. Click "Add or Remove Windows Components" found in the Add or Remove app and follow the instructions.

Defragment

Many offices contain a many number of important files and programs that cannot be discarded. In fact, they may contain files that have never been used, but they still need to be saved for some reason. Although these files must remain in the office, they need to be organized. That's why we create file folders that hold related file groups. Instead of storing them in cabinets arranged in alphabetical order.

On a computer, archived files are stored in a database. However, they are set in the time of their salvation. Therefore, if you open a name document and save the file “as file A” and instead of opening another folder and save it as “file B”, you have “file A” placed next to “file B.” This is OK, but if you open "file A" later and save it again, additional information is stored next to "file B."

When files are divided in this way, it is called a split file. This means that the computer must find the first part of the file and then find the second part of the file to open that single word document. This may slow down your computer. However, Windows has created a program that aims to rearrange files so that they do not split but remain close to each other.

You can use disk defragmented by selecting "All Programs" under the Start button. Next, select "resources" and "system tools" and you will see "disk defragmented." In fact, this is also another option for the disc cleanup mentioned earlier. Before starting defragmented. You can analyze your hard drive to see if Windows recommends performing defragmented. It may or may not be necessary at this time.

If you need to check your computer, just click the defragment button. It may take a while for your computer to complete this task, depending on your computer speed and the number of files, separated. It may take about 15-30 minutes or more. However, you can still use the computer while the disk defragmented is running.
