How To Choose Your True GOALS?

We often hear others talk about making goals and using them effectively to improve themselves, but we don't always pay enough attention to how to pick, assess, evaluate, understand, and choose our personal, genuine GOALS!

After more than four decades of involvement in a variety of areas related to personal development and enhancement/ achievement, ranging from advising, training, and consulting thousands of actual and/or potential leaders to conducting thousands of personal development seminars, I've come to the conclusion that not only is this process important and significant, but it often makes the difference between becoming our personal best, versus settling for far less! With that in mind, this article will use the mnemonic approach to explore, investigate, review, and discuss what this means and signifies, as well as why it matters.

1. direction; larger; authentic; goal - setting:

One of the most important reasons for good goal-setting is that when done properly, it provides significant, personal direction that should lead us down our best path forward! If we actually want to grow, we must take this action seriously and go forward, sensibly, etc., and aggressively!

2. Open - mind; options; possibilities; original; optimise:

Our best performance comes from going into a quest with an open - mind and examining feasible options and alternatives in order to improve our total performance, happiness, and so on! Instead of attempting to be just like everyone else, this method evaluates a number of possibilities and alternatives, seeks meaningful chances, and takes use of them, and instead of trying to be the greatest, original person we can possibly be!

3. Attitude, ability, actions, and focus:

To be the best we can be, we must have a realistic, positive, can-do attitude, as well as the discipline and dedication to learn and uncover the skill set and qualitative aptitude that will expand our possibilities! Our prospects rise considerably when we pay close attention and focus on self-improvement and opportunities!

4. Like/love; listen; learn; lessons; high-level:

In order to achieve competence, judgement, and, perhaps, actual wisdom, level-headed reasoning must be founded on successfully listening and consistently learning from every conversation and experience. When we think of these as life lessons, it makes it easier for us to set the most personally meaningful goals!

5. Strengthen; stronger; sustainable; solutions; services:

When we use our experiences effectively, they strengthen us and make us stronger. We must analyse possibilities in both a relevant and long-term manner, so that we can consider and choose those solutions that best serve, and protect, our personal interests!

Set GOALS, apply great goal-setting, and strive to be the best you can be! Only you can select your finest course to follow by giving yourself a check-up from the neck up and being objectively introspective!
